Maybe I’m dumb but how did the dogs not get hurt?

Whether or not the dogs were rescued, adding that to the end of the tweet was good thinking. All of the bleeding hearts would have derailed the amazing story.

I wonder if the CPR saved his life. Looked like he got hit pretty good.

It’s a solid question. Im no scientist, but was watching a video last night on electric current. So if you can imagine a straight and tall lightning rod, well for some reason that pointy end of metal attracts lightning before the surrounding objects that arent pointy and lower to the ground. So I imagine the fact that the man was taller and pointier made the lightning hit him and go through the ground before the dogs since the leash holding the dogs is an insulator. If the leash would have somehow been a conductor, the dogs would have likely fried too.

Take all this with a college degree grain of salt

This happened a couple miles from my job. The guy was extremely fortunate there were people in the immediate area to come to his aid, and several nearby residents went out and found his dogs.

Leaving several police jurisdictions inconsolable and left searching for targets to practice their shooting.

Cement isn’t a good conductor? Just a guess.

Wasn’t much of a strike versus some I’ve seen on YouTube. However, it got him good!

Ruptured multiple muscles, broke four ribs and inner ear bones. Burns to feet.

The broken ribs are attributed to the CPR though. The CPR saved his life.
