Well that’s apparently me because I’d rather just pay for a damn room than try to figure out what you just said.

I use to be able to get a room any Sunday-Thursday night from 4-5 nights a week of poker.

If you play big enough, there’s always a room for you.

My dad was a diamond member for a long time and could get rooms for New Year’s Eve or at any moment he wanted .

Depends on how much coin you drop. Nothing is free. Some casinos comp better than others. Some casinos I get comp’d room and food, some casinos I get poker room rate. Some get me on a sliding scale. You book in at poker rate and depending on hours of play, the rate reduces. This is/has never been a problem as we rarely see the room anyway other than a shower and a nap...

Pretty sure comped rooms are just a lie to you to make you feel better. They don’t actually plan to give you a free room

I have 2 comped room nights available each week plus $60 free play plus $40 cash per week at Marksville..I haven't been in 7 months..but I used to schedule conferences there and do gamble ($800 loss limit for me) although certainly not regularly..play 98% return video poker and $10 three card poker when I get bored..also use spa for my wife..guess it depends on if you spend a little in addition to play.

I have comped rooms Sunday through Thursday at a couple casinos in Biloxi. I won a decent pot there and they are always giving me free play and free buffet to get me back there as much as possible.

I don't gamble but my Daddy does and I can tell you that they not only exist but are also available 99% of the time that you call... PLUS PERKS.

I call him anytime I want to go to a concert. He gets my tickets, almost always one of the nicest rooms for 2 nights, and free buffets throughout my stay. There was only one concert he couldn't get for me and it was my fault bc I called him the week of the concert.

I get 2 free nights a week (Sunday-Thursday) at Golden Nugget in LC. I don't use all of them but I'll go once a month or so and spend about $200 in the casino but that's about it. You do have to prebook it like a week or two in advance though if you want the room to be free. They also send me free tickets to every concert that comes through there and also free golf all the time as well.

In my case you don't have to spend all that much. But I can only imagine what the give out to people who spend $1000+ each time.

Am I wrong, or do they seem to comp slots players at a greater rate than poker players?

What casino? They are not going to "comp" you when there is money to be made, in other words, they don't need you there on the weekend or if there is something going on during the week that will bring in the people, however; during the week. They would be glad to allow you to use a room, that no one else will be in, if that will get you down to the casino to eat a meal, gamble, etc.

Slots players get the best comps because of the guaranteed/fixed house advantage.

Slots is where the casinos make their money.

casinos can have losing quarters on table games if a whale comes in and hits a hot streak. That can’t happen with slots.

Wrong. There’s more money to be made giving a free room to a high roller than selling that same room to a redneck that’s going to play $5 blackjack for an hour.

I will add this.

A "comped" room is the least expensive thing the casino can "give" a gambler. It is also valued by gamblers much higher than other comps. To the casino, the room is there regardless if anyone sleeps in it or not. Their only cost is the few dollars they pay the housekeeper to clean it. Towels, sheets, soap, shampoo, etc is such a minuscule cost as to not be considered.

*Talk about a good neighbor to have, it was tickets, rooms, meals, etc any time I asked.

I have a gold mlife card. Never been turned down for comped nights on any weekend I want to go. That’s the third highest tier out of 5 tiers for mlife. I get 4 comped nights every quarter at Las Vegas hotels which also comes with a $100 food and beverage comp. I wouldn’t say I gamble a lot. bring about $3k per trip. I usually go to Vegas twice per year.

Comped rooms go buy your player card data. Back in the day the mafia would comp all the time. They didn't care about taking the loss in the hotel or food and beverage. In comes Howard Hughes and the corporations looking to make a profit in every sector. Old Vegas goes away

This particular incident was for a Thursday night, though. Can't imagine being booked on a Thursday night in early August.

Labaurge in BR is just as busy on Thursday nights as they are Friday/Saturday from my experience
