What careers can people make a good living doing that really isn't a career that people encourage kids to go in?
For the 21-24 yr olds, Strippers will make the most money while going to school full time. The schedule is perfect since it doesn't interfere with classes.
Class - MWF
Strip MWF and Sat nights
Rest and study on Tuesdays and Thursdays
They can make 70K easily

HVAC specialist.
My uncle in DC said that they are in such high demand there, and you can make a boat load of money doing it.

I can't get a plumber to pick up phone, call me back, or keep an appointment. Seems if you provide the slightest amount of customer service you could gain a foothold in a market quickly
This right here. The plumbers in my area are either up to their eyeballs in work and have the receptionist out in the field turning a wrench. Or they are just lazy as frick and don't care about making any money.
On the bright side I found out I am a little more handy than I thought when it comes to small plumbing issues. I've replaced a wax seal on my toilet and replaced a shower head and knobs on my own after minimal research. I'm not very useful when it comes to electrical and plumbing issues but those small jobs got me more confident to try out other small problems that may come up in the future.

Police
We need better police, which is why, instead of defunding the police, they need to be paid more so that it will attract more qualified people.

So, a vote for English teachers? Understandable that it is not openly encouraged due to all the frickin kids. And all the kid frickin.

Someone once told me, "You can't get a plumber to roll out of bed for less than $500". That was 15 years ago and it's more true than ever. It's hard to become a plumber. And the good, experienced plumbers choose the work they want. Some guys like driving around and unclogging old ladies' toilets b/c it's easy money. And some will only do new construction b/c it's easy and clean. So if you don't know someone, you have to call one of the bigger companies or a chain/franchise (roto rooter) and get some journeyman or apprenticeship that only knows how to run a snake through the drain line.

You've clearly never had kids.

These baws have it figured out. Same with the electricians that are good enough to do commercial work.

Boat mechanic.
Judging by the wait times I assume there is a shortage.

Informatics, you hear people push jobs such as coding, software development, etc...but you rarely hear about jobs that lie at the intersection of business and tech.
