This is a perfect opportunity to teach these free shooting thugs a lesson. He needs to be placed in the express lane to Angola. It needs to stay in the news too.

We heard you the first time

so you are saying it is legal to be in possession of a firearm while intoxicated?
If what you stated is actuall law then every deer hunter in Louisiana or any gun owner in the state of Louisiana is guilty if they get drunk at the deer camp or in their on home.

to clear up, you can drink and drive with a gun in your car(loaded, as in Will Smith's case)? do you know the law on that?

Who cares?? The question is:
Can you murder someone for a fender bender?

I'm not that familiar with LA law, so it's legal to have a gun rack in your truck which is visible to the public?

Your analogy is only applicable in a situation where a deer shoots a hunter.

Some of y'all are so damn simple minded I actually feel sorry for y'all

yes, you can carry a gun legally in your car wherever you'd like.

We also know that he was not carrying when he was killed by Hayes
I love how you speak as if you are representing facts. You don't know this.

Again, don't over complicate it.
It's a murder case and in due time, you will also see how simple it is.

quote:Again, I am not an attorney, but I do NOT think self-defense will be applicable in this case. IF, Smith rear-ended Hayes in the video and Hayes then pulled over to exchange insurance info at which time Smith fled from the scene. AS SOON AS Hayes chased after the car it no longer falls into the category of self-defense or stand your ground.
The question is, was Hayes using self defense
IMO opinion this is no different than shooting a burglar in the back after fleeing your property, which is not justifiable compared to shooting the burglar while he is in your home.
ETA: I left out the most important word "NOT"

Chick Foret
quote:.
This may sound crazy, but I have decided to write a book on the Will Smith homicide case. I have been covering this case since Sunday a.m.
I have a great many details that I can't completely document, but I am certain they are true.
I have been in the Orleans Parish Criminal Justice system for 40 yrs. I have many sources who give me info. I also see the legal aspects.
Don't underestimate the sports angle & the behind the scenes actions and decisions taking place taking place
@chickforet
What's his motivation here? PR move or is there truly someone more going on in this case?

it wouldnt surprise me if there is some real pressure from the higher ups to make sure this guy gets convicted no matter what. its not a good look for the city and can cost them hundreds of millions of dollars in events, like say the superbowl, if star former athletes are getting killed after a fender bender and the accused walks.
