Smart money says pay off that mortgage

There is no better fee!ing than being debt free. It may not be the best financial decision to pay off a low interest mortgage on paper but the reduced stress of being debt free is priceless.

Gives you the freedom to job shop, invest a little in a business idea and generally sleep better at night.

That's common for airplanes.

Damned Tacomas have to have the highest resell of all time.

They do and it's great to own one. In 2014, I sold my 2003 Tacoma 4Dr/4WD with 187K miles for $10K. I bought it brand new and kept it immaculate. 4WD Tacomas are the only trucks I've ever owned. They're as solid as they come.

Sweden had to limit mortgages to 105 years in 2016 because the average was 140 years.

Maybe people are sick of paying a $50K base price for a pickup?

While on the surface, this is stupid, I was offered the same rate for 36 months as I was for 96 months on a ski.

Paid it off in 17, but you better believe I signed on 96 at 0.99.

I’m glad I got in with a 06 Nissan Frontier before shite hit the fan with prices, no way in hell would I take out a 84 month loan for a truck. Industry’s build these bubbles and when they bust the same companies are looking for a handout to prevent a so-called bubble bursting.

We all know you can invest and get a better return and you are not wrong but consider that there are many ways to get ahead money-wise and everyone's psychology is different.

At least you used the right word, because it’s a feeling. While there are different approaches, mathematics dictates only one objective answer. Pointing out the depreciation is a null point, as it happens either way, and you aren’t ever underwater if you keep liquid assets waiting in standby to offset any loss.

Only the OT does this. People in the real world know that the MSRP isn't remotely a reasonable sales price.

They semi screwed up by making cars much better than say the 80s and 90s
this. It is easy to get 150k on a vehicle with minimal maint.

100k used to be a fluke.

A truck or car has a very long life now

I drive a 2003 minivan with 196k miles on it. Repairs starting to eat me up and I know it's a matter of time before something breaks that's not worth fixing. So probably replacing in next 3-6 months.

So, would love to see prices come on down!!

nstead of a rear view mirror, my dad's new Silverado has a video screen. It's cool and all, but an improvement? Nah.

That's just more crap to break. And then what?

You ever heard of the Stinger? Or the Cadenza? They’re sedans that cost over $40k. Oh and they’re KIAS!

So many of us here ride vehicles every day worth more than "Lambos" etc.

Sorry you suck.

t ain't helping them that cars last 4-5 times longer than they did 30 years ago.

Actually a good point that gets lost. Lots of mid-2000s vehicles still on the road and still look fine even thought they’re 10-15 years old

Cars are too expensive. The market is responding that they are tired of the bullshite. Lower the cost of the $35k car you produced for $5k

Nothing wrong with buying a nice used vehicle. You can find 2 year old vehicles with low mileage and still under warranty all day long. Brings the price down considerably.
