While you did disprove the premise people were throwing around in here, I can count on one hand how many people would actually want to drive that.
well, yeah. I only got one because I don’t drive much.

Cheap cars suck, but people here seem to think nice cars should be cheap.

It costs $300 to make an IPhone, you think there's only $500 worth of electronics in a car?

being a bit facetious. I know all of the electric motors are more expensive than that. However, most vehicles don't have near the compute power that is in your pocket.

You have 3 vehicles with premature transmission issues.

One of the cars was my wife's. I rarely drove it. I babied my Fusion like I said. Pretty hard to damage your transmission if you drive it normal. It's not like a clutch you can burn out by not operating the clutch correctly. In an automatic transmission, you have a brake pedal and gas pedal. Push down the gas to go, push down the brake to slow down or stop. Not sure how doing these tasks in a normal, easy fashion puts added strain on a transmission.

Maybe you can tell me though.

I think the CVT boogieman is sort of common knowledge. Plenty of articles out there.

I'm sure newer ones are better. All things are supposed to be better over time, testing, and development.

Two of the cars I mentioned are older vehicles which had early stage CVTs which are pretty well known to be unreliable.

Found the window sticker behind the seat.. $52,411. It has about every option other than leather. Weird to me it doesn't have leather at that trim level.

As it is to most people, that's why they are using it as a loaner. I had a similar loaner a couple years ago.

2019 Ford F150 FX4 Super Crew Cab. That thing drives and rides pretty damn good
The new ones drink oil and the transmission sucks is such garbage that I constantly think it's misfiring. And who the mother frick likes the auto stop start? I've met zero people who do. Doesn't even save any God damn gas. Aluminum doors...great. Now nobody can stick magnets on their work trucks. I know two people who want their old F150s back after buying new ones.

My rental Dodge was vastly better, but their payload is marginally higher than a Subaru

I don't know many that do. It's easily turned off though. Same effort as changing the radio station. Or you can permanently disable it with a tune. I agree there should be a way to just leave it off though.

Pressing a button every time you get in the truck is not an option I want. I ordered an eliminator, but the shite shouldn't be there in the first place

Tons of youtube videos on 2018/2019 F150 with oil consumption issues, transmission issues, and problems with the change in the 5.0 engine made. Dash warping and other issues.

Glad mine is older.

I always thought it was strange that so many people that would enjoy owning expensive auto brands because of their legacy, engineering and history, can't afford them, and premium, highly engineered brands like Audi and BMW(The Ultimate Driving Machine) are mostly driven by women that own them simply for the badge

People are bonkers for buying a vehicle brand new.

Do some homework, make the salesman do their job to find you a certified pre-owned that you want & buy it easily for $10k-$15k+ less than the new model sticker, even with the extender warranty. Especially in LA with all the oil field baw & bawette repo'd or traded in vehicles.
Last 3 vehicles we've gone with had less than 8k miles & we saved big time off the original new prices.
