I honestly had a decent experience with Price Leblanc Toyota. Even though they wouldn't budge on the price (Covid year shortage) they also didn't add the price adjustment BS like other local dealers...I just paid MSRP. Richard's Honda, on the other hand, will never get my business for a number of reasons, this being one. Sales staff refused to talk over the phone/email/internet, and the salesman I dealt with played games and was just generally a slime ball.

I'm not hiding anything from my point of view. The only way to have that viewpoint is to be a salesman. I've already stated very negatively of that career in a previous post.

If a deviation of a deal occurs then tell me. Don't spring it on me the day before.

So you put down a deposit before you reached an agreement on price and you thought they would hold it. They did. They held it until a better deal came along. What's the inspection got to do with it? Its a dog eat dog world. This isn't Burger King. The car goes to the first one with a signed and accepted agreement. Other salespeople are trying to sell it too. Now if you had negotiated a price and left a deposit, then you got a legitimate beef. Hate the game not the player.

I'm just pissed because now I have to go to a bank to cancel the check and now we're really starting from square one

Why did you need to get a check from the bank in the first place?

It's a dog eat dog world and within it reading is hard.

After contacting several dealers once we found the vehicle she liked we negotiated a price and got them to send the breakdown from Price to Tax and Title to get the total.

Once the vehicle arrived last week we put down a deposit

Do you know how to read? They agreed upon a price and he put a deposit down. If the deposit doesn't hold the vehicle then what's the point of it in the first place?

File a case on them on the Better Business Bureau website. You would be surprised how much weight carries.

There's also a saying about a customer being right so looks like you can eat shite there buddy

I've been in business my entire adult life and this isn't even close to the truth. The first country club I worked at had a crusty old pro who owned the shop. He taught me early on the customer isn't always right and that philosophy has been borne out over the last 25 years.

I take my statement back. I didn’t realize this was for online stuff.

If this interested person has not been into the store yet, yea the car is fair game.

dealership added a $300 surcharge for nitrogen in the tires.

The people that work at dealers can expound better, but this is how dealers create margin. Window etching, oooh, how much of a discount does that get my on my car insurance? lol. They informed me the day I picked up a truck I ordered from Fard.com four months earlier about the extra charges. The GM cut me a $2k check to refund all of the BS that got added that wasn't on my sticker.

But he also lived a block from me. There were a lot of expensive arse Fords within 200 yards of his house, and he knew his team screwed up.

That shows you how different it can be with different people at different times. We bought our son a civic there last summer and it was one of the easiest car deals i've ever had out of about 25 or 30
