We should be thanking God Trump is our president right now. Without him, AI would be running rampant all over the place and taking over everything. Trump knows how it would affect all of us, and he’s making sure to protect our working force from its harmful damage. Our economy has never been stronger. Trump has America in a new golden age that no other nation has even seen. We have the strongest economy and it’s red hot
Is this sarcasm? Because Trump has clearly cozied up to our future tech overlords and has promised an AI “Manhattan Project.” The CEO’s of these companies absolutely will say anything to push massive investment into something they don’t even clearly understand what the outcome will be.
He is just as ignorant as most people who only listen to one side of an important issue.
If Trump cared about us he would be pushing for limits on current AGI /AI with narrow focus to keep it a tool that help humanity and a complete ban on the development of super intelligence.
re: Trump has it right on the economy. Tariff-hating "conservatives" are clueless

I get using Tariffs as leverage and in some cases retaining a small, across the board tariff on certain countries that sign trade deals with the U.S. that said, do tariffs on steel and aluminum imports not increase the cost of any manufacturing and industrial buildout? Maybe cheaper lending would help offset this increase, but if DJT’s goal is a fast buildout and reinvestment, tariffs and the increased animosity between the U.S. and nations like Canada probably aren’t helping.
As little as I care for leftist actors and their comical political leanings, I'm looking at this as a possible way to fight AI's complete takeover of jobs in creative industries. This isn't just about headline actors, it's also about the camera operators, video editors, set and makeup artists, catering companies, trucking companies, etc. The people who work within and support the entertainment industry. If Hollywood is able to finance and fight AI takeover in the courts for this single issue, then it may also set a wider precedent for other worthy human endeavors being replaced by a series of prompts.

Businesses need to borrow to expand and hire. Money lending is tight right now and expensive.
Try this BS on Jefferson Hwy.
Using the center turn lane as their own personal on ramp is just moronic. I've seen people go 50-60 yards or more and almost head on into cars trying to make a left turn. It's like no one else exists but them.
I definitely need more screens and screen time in my life.
re: CNBC ranked the worst states for quality life and Tennessee was last

Recently spent a week in Chattanooga and It was pretty good for my quality of life. The outdoors activities in and within 50miles of there is amazing. Food was surprisingly great outside of the touristy places. Saw a few hobos, but nothing like the trashy, tent city nonsense of places like Austin and Los Angeles, so they most likely heavily enforce vagrancy laws. So, basically a city ripe for hive minded progressives to move to and “fix.”

I kinda hope the city elects him and he goes full Somali on the city. Americans might actually wake up if they see it.
Even San Francisco finally “woke” up (relatively speaking) and recalled the far-left DA and voted for a more centrist Democrat Mayor. But it took years of leftist rot and it might be too late to fix everything.
Yet another thing black women are denied.

The SCOTUS needs to get off their asses and shut this whole unconstitutional clown show down
If you don’t like DJT everything is “unconstitutional” or “racist.” Zero intelligence or actual facts behind either statement.

Of course it was the crappiest, most unkempt house on the block.
In BR, it’s mostly the same for homes with “I love my library” signs and/or Ukrainian flags.
I love reading too, but apparently this is now code for I’m a human who can barely manage my own existence much less maintain landscaping.

Might add 30 seconds to my commute in the afternoons if I catch it. But I agree with the blinking yellow turn arrow. This light probably helps keep traffic from bunching up at Tara and/or Drusilla more than it already gets most days and allows some breaks in the traffic flow for people to turn off of Brentwood.
He is dealing with major budget issues, crime and other problems that Broome and the metro council created out of blind ignorance or petty politics. I can see the River Center contracts becoming the next debacle. He also is never going to be like Kip, a personality with an intelligent vision for what BR can be. Broome got us so far off course I don’t think BR can ever correct that.
re: Scott Bessent just summed up the migration crisis for America
Posted by longtooth on 7/6/25 at 10:23 am to Major Dutch Schaefer
Bessent does a far better job of explaining what the administration is trying to do with trade and the economy than anyone. No doubt Trump is getting him out there as much as possible for that very reason. He has a very calm, respectful, but assertive manner. Would make an excellent Presidential candidate if he ever wanted to go that route. Surprised his past role as the head of Soros fund management hasn’t become a point of contention.
None of his policies will work. Courts will shut down some of it and the rest will be a disaster. Crime will increase. Poverty will spike. More productive people and businesses will flee the city and the state. Maybe some will regret voting for this socialist, but will still link it to the person and not the party or the policies. Rinse and repeat.

I see Prairieville as the new Baton Rouge with Saint Francisville the new Prairieville
So they are going to ruin St. Francisville with overdevelopment, shitty planning and inbred politics like they did in Prairieville?
re: Does United States constitutional rights apply to non-US citizens?

People need to start making clear distinctions between someone here illegally and a non-citizen who is here LEGALLY.

Having to alert the city council every time it’s used seems absurd.

Still no justice for Janessa Hartley either. Shot by a car jacker in Sherwood Forest. Probably visiting from one of the many section 8 apartment complexes in the area.
