I’m usually on the same page you are for things but I don’t hate that bathroom.

Nothing uglier than this New Orleans style that looks like a retarded child went berserk with his crayons in a coloring book.
Give me the black and white over this crap any day.

The owner must have Wemby on retainer in the off season because damned few humans on twenty foot ladders could reach the recessed lighting fixtures should the bulbs fail.

The black and white look is so overdone at this point. Someone should punch Joanna Gaines for starting this tasteless crap
On a farmhouse in the country, I think it’s a timeless look in that setting. One that really isn’t a trend.
In a subdivision, it doesn’t fit. And I have seen a lot of new subdivisions going with those modern farmhouse builds. I guess it’s this decade’s french acadian style home design of stucco and brick that dominated Louisiana house builds for 20 years.
But I also always see people say whatever trend is currently the one in style saying that it will eventually go out of style. Well yeah, that’s with anything. No matter what you go with, it will eventually have to be remodeled if you want to freshen up the look. Paint is one of the easiest things you can change.
But the design of a house build shouldn’t be the concern…it’s the quality of the builds these days that is the main concern anyone should have.

I don’t know man, the Acadian style with a big porch has always looked great to me. Also the older cottage homes. Build quality was better there in almost every case too
The farmhouse shiplap monstrosities they’ve been building in my hood already look wildly out of place

I like the exterior but agree with you that the interior looks bad.
Posted on 6/21/26 at 1:42 pm to stout
I like that exterior, but the all white interior blows.
Posted on 6/21/26 at 1:42 pm to stout
It’s completely atrocious… and it always was.

Well, a black roof is the opposite of that Also, black shingles have a shorter lifespan in the Louisiana climate than lighter colors
Almost all of your pics are of interiors...anything other than a black or brown shingle looks odd.

I agree. The ones with a big front porch still look great. I’m talking more along the lines of this style:

Yeah those are horrible and the best comparison for the current farmhouse style
