but in hot arse Louisiana cooler colors and surfaces that stay cool are at a premium.

Well, a black roof is the opposite of that

Also, black shingles have a shorter lifespan in the Louisiana climate than lighter colors

It'll pass. Either we move closer to no color, or we go back to color.

I would not recommend painting bricks random colors though.

That reminds me of Mr Pine's Purple House, a book I loved as a kid.

It's a bit too much white, but superior to ragged out traditional brown and beige everywhere.

Are comp shingle roofs kept black simply to not show future weathering and staining?

At least the new trend is going back to color on cabinets but it is a light color on white oak. Also, no more shaker style. Now people want just flat cabinets that look like a commercial office

I like white oak and its natural color a lot, and I built my island out of it for contrast, but I like some character on the doors.

The monotone everything else is still in, though.

Black shingles show granule loss more than other colors IMO so they end up looking worse.

Soffit lights crack me up around the whole house crack me up. I call it the Ascension Parish Special.“

AP rejected you, eh? What with the huge number of families that have already moved out here I can see why you’d be butt-hurt. Oh, well…..

The gray is bad too. Trends for sheep that will look like 1970s paneling soon enough.

Apparently, you've touched a nerve with some of the sheep.

It's a very nice house, but it needs some character.

That's the point that I'm making. People are not buying houses to live in them. People are buying houses to stay in them until they can sell them later. Lots of people are not looking to make Roots anywhere anymore.

Easily achieved with furniture, rugs, artwork, etc.

If they want.

If my house was empty it would be close to that look... but I have 4 of my grandma's paintings up.. a few that I did with my son.. record stand filled with colorful sleeves. Same with books and a bunch of his lego sets out.

Some people don’t realize that listings are routinely ridiculed on Facebook. Realtors and Appraisers have several groups dedicated to picking apart a structure and property. That’s called “24 Hour Porn Rental” vibe or something like that.
