Yea, Austin is awesome.

I just really like the outdoors.

Austin fricking sucks due to the ridiculous traffic, super inflated housing costs, and a nonstop influx of Californians. It has a pretty cool night life, but so does basically every other top 30 American city.

If you can't find "your scene" in Austin, Tx it's not Austin. It's you.

You really want to know is what’s so great? Put your political beliefs aside and try to enjoy a city that has very good outdoors things to do literally in the city limits, such as swimming holes, hiking, rock climbing. The city itself is also very clean. The food is very good overall. Sure there are some overrated places, which seems to be what you fell for. The same can be said for BR and most cities.

So y’all wanna live someplace because it has a rock to jump off of and Korean bbq?

Sounds like a terrible living worse than Baton Rouge

Everything that y’all bitch about in Baton Rouge, we basically have none of, with the exception of traffic, and even that is like comparing apples and oranges since we have 4X the population. Our streets are clean, our city is well-run, our schools are good, crime is low, and we have little to no culcha.

You mean, you didn't have a crazy shooting at a great local place like Chicken & Watermelon tonight?

Have to watch out for tattoo gun wielding terrorists but...

And OP, a great example of simply sucking it up is experiencing the absolute best burger menu in the city at Jackolope. Thing is, not many if any here "fit in" there. And that's the kickass thing about it. You don't have to and those awful awful people don't care if you do. Because after you settle in, you won't care either. Good people are just good people. Get to know some and stop being afraid of life.

ATX would be exponentially better with a Republican Mayor and city council. Outside of that just live your damn life man.

Stop asking randoms on the street for advice FFS.
