Can someone please explain to me what's so great about Austin?

I'm here right now and this place sucks! fricking hipsters everywhere you look, people waiting in long-arse lines for mediocre burgers and ice cream. Earlier today I watched a young Latino woman riding her bike, had the "OK to cross" symbol lit up, and a car pulled up into the crossing lane, so she just rammed her bike right in to the car. Black woman and man jumped out and threatened to beat her arse and she rode away saying, "frick off." Later when I went to HEB a woman was on a drunken/drug-induced profanity-laced tirade in the parking lot, yelling obscenities left and right. There are homeless people on every damn corner. Terrible traffic and construction everywhere. Asked some locals for some recs on what to do, and they told me go to Alamo Drafthouse to catch a movie, or "walk South Lamar", go to Central Market for live music, or to the "hot spot" with great restaurants called "The Domain." Looked to see what restaurants they had there, and it was shite like CPK and Kona Grill -- it's like Perkins Rowe 2.0. WTF? Baton Rouge is better than this.
