There are no genders anymore, only they/them.

Your comparison is not only wrong, it's fricking stupid

There are zero co-ed boy scout troops. None.

They are either all boys.
Or all girls.

There is co-ed Explorers, Venture, and Crew. They have been co-ed since 1971.

People crying over all-girl troops is fricking retarded.
It is exactly like crying over an all girl college opening up down the road from an all boys college.

When your facts are built on a foundation of misinformation, you get fricking skyscreamers like in this thread.

Grow up and touch grass.
A girl who "earns" the same achievements as a boy in a separate troop shouldn't emasculate anyone

Especially when the girls have been merit badge instructors teaching the boys at summer camp for decades.

This move by the Boy Scouts really hut the Girl Scouts enrollment..

Girl scouts being a shite run institution hurt enrollment.

Adding girl dens and girl troops to cub and boy scouts just provided an outlet for scout families.

These are families of male cub and boy scouts who saw what kind of crap that girl scouts was and liked what the boys were doing.
These families' daughters can now run through the same program with all girl dens and troops.
Given the choice of girl scouts and boy scouts, they choose the better program.

This isn't true. My church hosts a coed group. My 5 year old daughter likes going camping with her Dad and doing outdoors activities. I don't understand the bitterness with allowing girls to join an organization that interests her. The boys have an option to join an all boy group if they would like...

Boy scouts starts in grade 6.
What grade is your 5 year old daughter?

In cub scouts, the dens are supposed to be separate.
Theoretically, a group of 7 kids will all be the same sex. Dens categorize by grade level. All kindergarteners are Lions. All 1st graders are Tigers. Etc..
All of the Dens together create a Pack.
The pack is co-ed for cub scouts.
The small groups (5-7 kids) are not co-ed.
The entirety of all of the groups (30-150 kids) would be co-ed.

This does not carry over to the boy scout level.

She is in Kindergarten. I appreciate your explanation. Admittedly, I know very little about scouting as I never did it. I just think Scouting America would align more with her interests in the future. She is currently in our neighborhood girl scout troop but I don't know that it is connecting with her.

Cub scouts are awesome.
Every pack is different.

But my kids loved the pack events (hot wheels derby, pinewood derby, cubmobile derby, space derby, raingutter regatta) and all of the family camping.

My 2 daughters were basically free labor to help setup and run meetings/events, so they participated (without an opportunity for trophies) with their own cars/builds.

The joy was spending time with my own kids. But also to get a peak at elementary school level recess with their friends (free range play out in the woods or by the lake).

I hope your daughter and her dad have a blast.

My girls stuck with girl scouts from grade 1 to 9.
It was a great experience for my wife and girls to spend time together.
But side-by-side with my boys, I could see their frustration with girl empowerment (you can do anything you want. But you are too young to handle tools, knives, or fire).

They did not cross over to the boy scouts. Boy scouts is not family oriented like cub scouts. It is great for personal improvement and community. My girls were more interested in high school athletics and clubs by that time.

This thread basically sums up society in 2026.

If the Girl Scouts are poorly run, you should be entitled to join the Boy Scouts. If your school is poorly run, you should be able to enroll in someone else’s.

But, my favorite response in this thread was the poster who was a single dad and wouldn’t have had the time for his daughter if she couldn’t be a Boy Scout with her brother.

You are making the case for school vouchers.
Freedom of choice.

Again.
There are zero co-ed boy scout troops. A stand-alone all girl troop in boy scouts has no impact on the stand-alone all boy troops in boy scouts.

Sounds nice, but it was really good to train those who would enter the military. Can not tell you how many Eagle Scouts in my age group entered the military when able.

Does it matter an more? Scouts taught you how to salve problems and take responsibility. Guessing they stop teaching what really mattered a generation or two ago.

Maybe I don’t understand…Peak lunacy is a stand alone group of girls that are Boy Scouts.

1) Answer = Michele Obama
2) Suggestion = if you have a little guy, Look into and perhaps try “Trail Life”, a Christian based off shoot of BSA, that does not allow wokeness.

You're not getting it. In your example, all women's colleges exist. The entire structure is built around women only education, administration, needs, etc.

There is no equivalent anymore for men.

For Scouting, there is an all-girls organization created for, and run for, only girls. There is no longer a similar organization for boys. The girl scout organization is run ONLY for girls. The boy scout organization is now run for boys AND girls. Do you not see the problem here?

There exists today female-only spaces, created for only females, and catering to only females. They are deemed acceptable, and celebrated.

Male-only spaces, created by and for only males, have largely gone extinct, as they have been deemed "sexist" and "problematic." One of the last holdouts, men's collegiate fraternities, are under attack from all sides (unless, of course, you're a minority fraternity...)

It's a glaringly blatant double standard, but men are just supposed to shut up and accept it.

Simple…

When the Mormons bailed (big numbers with a separate program), the professional (paid) ranks had to do something to keep up membership and their jobs.

Other countries had females as members for many years.

Blaming the courts, attorneys or libs is just ignorant.
