Look for an older Tahoe. Things run for ever

Yes. There are plenty of Expeditions, Tahoes, minivans, etc under 10 years old, with fewer than 100k miles, available for $15k or less. Plenty of them.

2013-15 Pathfinder in around the 50,000-70000 mile range should come in around that price.

yes
you can get a 4runner with very spacious interior room and they go 400k miles so you buy one around 150k and it still has 15 years trouble free use left on it
if you buy anything other then toyota it better have no more then 100k miles because they are only good for 200k
i bought a fully loaded 2006 4runner 2wd with 125k miles and a v8 engine with leather seats and sun roof in 2017 for $10,500. all it needed was a full front to back brake job and new set of tires

Highlander would work. Not full size, but 3rd row.

This kind of stuff is what is great about TD, anyone remember a few years back and where a guy had $10,000 cash and was looking for a car? The O-T found him one, I fully expect the same thing here, good luck

Did you even read the thread title?

If you look on FB marketplace now around Hahnville, there is a 2008 Suburban for $8000.
It has a 191,000 miles on it- but I know the owner- it really is a 93 year old man who drove it to his camp in Grand Isle and to visit his girlfriend in CA- no shite.

Dont buy a mazda. Read reviews!

Looks like I should stretch my budget to $25-30K if I don't want something with a very high mileage. Of all the suggestions so far, I like the CX-9, Highlander and Honda Pilot the most. Aren't Mazdas, Toyotas and Hondas generally more reliable than Chevys?

Highlander. I bought a 2013 last summer for around 20k. It has just under 100k miles but drove like a new SUV. I’ve got three kids, and while an adult can’t comfortably ride in the third row, my two oldest fit back there just fine when we have other adults with us. And it rides great on trips. I prefer driving it over our van. Better handling and mileage. I’m going to drive it another 4 years and it should get my daughter through college after that.

Love the 4runner! Had no idea they come with a third row. Is the 3rd row usable for adults in a pinch, or is it only for tiny kids?

4Runners do not have a 3rd row.

Need a family hauler and don't want to spend $50K on a new SUV. Start are some good used mid or full size SUVs we should be looking at?
kinda...$16683 gives you a third row 4-runner...only 7 years old clean carfax....

Someone at work just told me to look at the Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride. 2020 base models for both start around $31K, and looks like they come with a ton of standard features. I had no idea you could get brand new 3-row crossovers for mid $30K!
Anyone here know anything about the Palisade and the Telluride? I've never owned a Hyundai or a Kia, but that Telluride looks nice!

they have 3rd row jump seats as optional, but its more like kids seats to be honest
the highlander is the same thing but it has better 3rd row seats for adults yet you give up cargo room because of that
if adult seating 3rd row is a real requirement then go with the highlander instead
