Having a rapport with your coworkers goes a long way towards making work more pleasant, efficient, and easier. I take pride in developing relationships with my coworkers. I have gone out of my way to even help when in they are in need. Don't see why things would need to be completely impersonal.

We have a lady here that has a smart kid. He started working part time, but now has transitioned to full time. Since his mom works here, he is going by Baby Boy. It bothered him at first, but I think now he is either use to it or is letting it go hoping it wears off. But, he is a dude, so he is better equipped to handle said work place situation.

Kiddo is actually code for Baton Rouge's underground gay sex scene. Watch out.

Not a big deal. Insecurities will allow one to imagine threats to one's self worth when they aren't there. Please don't take this as more ridicule but you'll grow out of it. You're already bigger than that.

Sounds like a micro-inequity that you are experiencing as a woman. You should be documenting these in order to report to HR on a regular basis

So have your assistant go shiv her assistant and then beat the crap outta the old wench.

Sheesh, kids these days. Just what DO they teach in grad school these days?

probably considers her "grad school" to be DeVry Institute of Technology, or wherever she went post GED

Some of my customers have called me kiddo in the past. I'm young for what I do, but I ultimately don't care because it must mean that I look of cardable age. I think I appreciate it more every year that I get older. No one says it in a disrespectful way, and as long as it doesn't play a role in whether or not they buy my products, then who cares.

Well I obviously wasn't thinking her 6 year old daughter was her "assistant" either. Because if that's the case a shiv wouldn't be as effective. Ball peen hammer is more age appropriate for a 6 year old.

she does sound like the type that would not only insist on professional protocol as far as how she's addressed, but demand that her employer provide on site day care for her kid(and probably for her cats too)
