This bugs me. I work in a very professional setting and I realize ppl don't do this to be rude, but it kinda is. For reference, the person doing this is a middle aged woman and I'm young enough to be her child. But still, unless they are a student worker/college intern, I'm going to say it's slightly disrespectful to call someone this.

Side note: "Sweetie," "Honey" and "Love" etc. are even more offensive. I'm not your freaking granddaughter. I will call someone out on that sh*t.

Call her "Grams" and see how she reacts.

If she doesn't like it, she shouldn't do it to you.

The last place I worked my boss had two sons who were a year older than me and a year younger.

She constantly called me these

She was hot thought so I didn't bitch.

Go to HR and claim sexual harassment. That's what I do to all my former at-work side pieces. Works every time.

You should always have an arms length relationship with coworkers. You don't want to be all up in their lives and vice versa. If you feel comfortable using terms of familiarity with them, you're too close. Find your friends elsewhere.

Lol no but that would be odd...if a teenager calls me "ma'am" I'm like, you dont have to call me that.

wtf? Lol I am not close like that with any coworkers. Barely even see this person, just talk on the phone mostly due to different office locations. I think she feels like she can call any younger person in our company by that name.
