That is somewhat douchey but if the guy's spending his own time and money to go across the country to help people he deserves a pass. Douchebaggery can absolutely be balanced by things like charitable works or nice tits.
Nah, judging from that other post he got 100000 in donations and wastes it on living the high life. If true, he can kick rocks

Some other guy was just on CNN and his thing is called “Cajun Search and Rescue.” I think it is just him, another dude and some dogs.
CNN kept using the term “Cajun Navy” interchangeably with his team

It should just be good guys, with the ability to help people, doing what they can to help. There are still people like that, but others like the fame
I don't really get when or why they became an organized group with leadership. I had thought it was just a bunch of loosely organized baws with boats, not an official trademarked group with leadership and budgets.

Did Beauvines close? Or is Revelry just the music venue?
This may be the case...
Yea I saw Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eli Young Band, Tracy Lawrence, Trace Adkins, Gary Allen, Deirks Bentley, and Pat Green multiple times.

When will the cajun coast guard reserves get in the mix?

Admiral? I thought the highest rank in the Cajun Navy was Shrimp Boat Captain

I will no longer respond to any post unless I am referred to as:
Front Lt. Adm. Rear Cpl. danfraz

Maybe it's because the amateurs get in the way of the professionals who are actually trained to rescue people, and perhaps the NC state and local folks know the area better than a bunch of folks from Louisiana.

When people realized there was money and fame to be had.
Most are just good guys not looking for donations. If they run out of fuel, they go home. If they run out of food, they go home. If someone happens to give them fuel or food on the way back, they might stay. There's no media or fame involved

Why allow private individuals to excel at something the government sucks at?
ummmm
the Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Army and Marines all have excellent combat search and rescue teams that help out during these situations

I am sure private groups could round up ex military people and pull off the same rescues.
You think former PJs are knocking down the door to work for the Cajun Navy

Why can't they just be a group of guys going to help people? Noooo...they have to be "admirals" in the "cajun navy".
Do they have lieutenants, commanders, and captains? I really hope so.
I don’t want that admiral title to be handed out to just anyone.

From what I am told, Clyde Cain has raised over $100,000 and has a new truck, expensive new boots, new sunglasses and has been eating in fancy restaurants and going to football games all on the name of the Cajun Navy but the real rescuers are struggling to get fuel together to go to Florida
No one should be seeking personal gain on the backs of these volunteer boat rescuers
Be careful who you are donating to
This reeks of small minded jealous butthurt. I don't know any of the party's involved but does the cajun navy do good work or not?

some transparency in how they manage money
Like the Clinton Foundation who got close to a billion for Haiti and 3 sheds were built with that money, that type of transparency.
Or Like Koeman, who pays board members high 6 to low 7 figure salaries, and does nothing for research???

There are rescue people there and ready to work..I know the Louisiana boys want to help but what makes them think that what they do is exclusive? If local authorities want them to stay clear for the locals to do their jobs they should back off.

Hence why some of the shite they get is deserved. That was what was cool about it. Hell, I didn't even mind the merchandise. Now we have a frickin Admiral? Give me a break
