I know some 98 year old grandmas who can get ahead of local authorities given a chance.

I always thought these rescues were something first responders were actually pretty good at.

They lack the number of personnel to rescue everyone.

They are good at them. There just aren't enough to make a dent in a large scale flood.

The waters would recede before the coast guard could rescue everyone.

When and why did this board begin to dislike the Cajun Navy?

Getting some additional information from LA Cajun Navy Admiral Clyde Cain. He told me emergency officials in New Bern, NC told him they had enough first responders to handle rescue calls there. LCN now moving on to Wilmington, NC.

I'm sure that doesn't help.

Kind of like ambulance chasers.
Your house floods, you are at your most vulnerable.
Nothing to worry, I will handle your rebuild as well.

I shudder to think who will rescue people without them though.

The rebuild part is all a big scam all the way around from insurance companies looking to only pay the bare minimum to contractors who need to recoup their money. It's a shame these storms continue to happen and no one seems to learn any lessons

I think the constant begging for money and attention put them over the edge in a lot of peoples eyes.

I live in Houston and several people have posted a link to their donation page when posting the article about the Cajun Navy heading to NC. Would be wise to monitor where all that money is going and how its being used.
