I’m telling you, if the feds has the resources, they could bust state and local agencies in this state every single day.
Sheriffs, police chief, school boards, COA, parish councils and their president, levee boards, etc

As bad as Louisiana is, and I’m well aware of it, we do not hold a monopoly on corrupt politicians and administrators. This goes on everywhere people are given responsibility over other people’s money.

There's definitely been a trend lately with our corrupt politicians.

LA is easily top 3, if not number 1, when it comes to governmental corruption.

Based on studies, LA and MS share the top two spots.

Federal government should not be funding meals for children when we are in middle of obesity/diabetes epidemic

Also seems like double dipping to me, the parents get SNAP money for the kids they can't afford to have; then the schools provide sometimes two or three meals a day at school. Not to mention programs that feed at all of the various developmental centers and libraries.

Illinois gets a bad rep which is strongly influenced by its history.

Yes, it has corruption, but Illinois is behind LA now.

LA took Illinois’ beer.

How many of Illinois’ recent governors are/were incarcerated for corruption?

Louisiana?

Louisiana may be more corrupt but they have a better track record of not getting caught.

What kind of putrid parent doesn’t feed their child?

You sound like a POS. Just because someone doesn’t have the means that doesn’t mean they’re putrid, good people can go hungry too you know

There have been like 3 or 4 stories in the last 24 hours here about people being busted on corruption charges in Louisiana.

Is this a coincidence or is there something going on behind the scenes?

This is Louisiana. Government corruption and murder are what we do.

A majority of "good people" could easily get a job. All they have to do is pass a drug test.

You're telling me that with all the federal assistance out there people STILL can't afford to feed their kids? bullshite.

Beans and rice are cheap

I know public schools do not expel students until the end of October because that's when they have to have the number of kids enrolled in free lunch.

This is not correct as far as I know. In short, if the act is bad enough, they are gone...unless, of course, they are Special Ed students. Basically, most students that are habitual offenders take a few months to accumulate enough paperwork to justify expulsion. Now, what you do see are Special Ed students thatqstop attending school after October 1st. As I understand it, that is the magic date to get Social Security for the remainder of the year. Good times.
