CA Taco Chain Temporarily Closing Because Employees Are Being Harassed Over Facemasks

CEO and part-owner Bill Kohne told BuzzFeed that customers have also been using racial slurs at his employees, many of whom are Latino. He added that it's a shame that masks have become politicized when they are simply a matter of public health.
"I’m really trying to avoid politics because we’re just a taco stand...but there's no escaping the truth," he told BuzzFeed. "Masks have been politicized at the very top of the country for reasons that have nothing to do with being responsible for each other. And it's emboldened some people to turn it into a symbol of something that it is not."

Interesting wording. You'd think the staff would have masks on to, y'know, actually keep themselves healthy. Not just be a symbol of the owners' desire to keep them healthy.
Well at least these heroic owners set up a GoFundMe for the employees they just put out of work.

Yeah I used to work in L.A. County and still ran into plenty of republicans out that way.
Hell we have plenty of posters on this forum that are republicans that live in CA.

People here won't want to hear it, but California has probably the widest slice of America in the country. Small farm communities, wilderness, big cities, suburbia, surfing, skiing, etc... It has a little piece of everywhere.
