I went out today and almost 100% of the people were wearing a mask in public (we have a mask ordinance now)

So yeah, I don't think that these people are really that serious

Just trying to sound bad arse on the internet. Not sure how not wearing a mask makes you a bad arse but these people are borderline retards.
You live in Durham, NC. Pretty much the Mecca for rich white elitist trying to act how much they care about the world

I was in my gym this morning here in Louisiana, where masks are now mandatory. Maybe 2 out of 100 people were wearing them

I feel bad for the folks in Northern California that they have to be lumped in with Southern California. That should be our 51st state.

How the frick did we get here as a country? How did a mask become a symbol of right vs left?

Trump plays a big part in this. Remember when he chided that reporter for wearing a mask and said, “oh, you want to be politically correct.“. Anyone who says he or she doesn’t believe this, is being disingenuous

Remove LA and SF from the equation and CA is a red state.

Sounds like he is an a-hole making a-hole rules.

He didn’t make the rule you idiot. There have been mandates from local government for a while that masks are required at indoor businesses.

so, Trump's fault?

I haven’t worn a mask in the gym since I started going back. Zero chance I ever will. Damn things restrict airflow and when I’m lifting or jogging, that’s the last fricking thing I want.

People here won't want to hear it, but California has probably the widest slice of America in the country. Small farm communities, wilderness, big cities, suburbia, surfing, skiing, etc... It has a little piece of everywhere

Yep. fricking shame what some people did to the politics there. It really is a geographic and climatic Paradise.

I wouldn't mind retiring to Pine Valley or Guatay

I think you could likely do this same exercise for every state

Everything is left vs right now, and no matter how many people want to deny it that’s what trump wants. His constant “radical left” statements and talking down to the other party have helped that along. And as you can see it’s working. He has fanboys all over

What are you, 16?

CA gets stereotyped as some crazy progressive la-la land but the interior is as baw as baw can be.

Like any state, you leave the big cities and it’s conservative. The wealthy folks out in wine country and Orange County aren’t keen on flushing their money down the drain, believe it or not

I got chastised this morning for not wearing a mask in a coffee house. People have gone insane

It is interesting for sure. I would never refuse to wear a mask, but have yet to need to so far.

Yep. I don’t really care about masks in any other setting(although I’ve only worn one to get my haircut and nowhere else) but I’m not wearing one at the gym. Should be common sense
