Buying an engagement ring with your future fiancee present

Was just dropping off my Patek for cleaning. This baw and bawette were there picking out an engagement ring and settled on one and started talking financing as I completed my paperwork.
It is certainly fine to drop hints about what sort of ring you would like but part of the surprise of a proposal is being surprised seeing what ring looks like. Kind of a cuck move imo.

Just remember that an engagement ring should be no less than 6 months salary. Don’t short change your life partner. Take out a loan, if necessary. Nothing shows your dedication to her like a 120 month loan - one just as long as your truck note is.

you’re an absolute nut if you spend over 4-5k on a ring. I don’t give a shite what the girl says. Some girls have good heads on their shoulders and realize the money is much better spent on a car or new house

I did this. Was both of our 2nd marriage. I can see young couples doing this, but we are in our 50”s. Wanted to make sure she got what she wanted....and she was happy.
