Fleur de lis pizza Pizza is greasy and the place is dark and cramped and are they still cash only?
Used to love it but last couple I went it was pretty bad, not sure what happened to it the last couple years, maybe Covid related?

Damn. I don't get to BR much anymore, but I would've guessed that place closed around 2002. How much of the decor is original?

I believe their 99-cent margaritas promotion was the end of their run. That place is a shithole now. It's packed, but it's a shithole.

That place stays packed. It's a big reason why Coursey and Sherwood are no-go zones every weekend night after about 8PM. You're liable to run into someone doing donuts in the intersection.
Now, if you mean you don't know how the fire marshal or ABC hasn't shut them down yet, I am with you.

I bought a straw skimmer hat there as a joke for senior prom and just kept going back for weird gifts and what not for years.

Chinese Restaurant (real name) on Nicholson close to downtown.
Came here to post exactly this. Had no idea it had been there for so long. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than 4 cars… I’ve always sorta been tempted to try it but also a little concerned they might serve cat.

I bartended at the one on siegen for a good clip in college during that time. Can confirm.
The amount of broke arse people that would come in there and get falling over drunk for 5-10 dollars and then leave was astonishing.
Before that promotion it was a kush job with good patrons. During and after it was dogshit.
It also changed the type of of person working there significantly. The staff went from mostly college kids and people with second jobs to hoodlums and crackheads virtually overnight.
Only reason I stayed was because I had to pay for school and I had been there for a while so I could pretty much Make my own schedule.

Ruffinos. The most overrated "Italian" restaurant I've ever been to. It's not in the same ballpark as Little Village.

Is The BREC golf course in North BR off Airline near Hollywood still open. That place was in the hood 20 years ago and can’t imagine playing there now. A black guy in our plant used to play there and had to pull his pistola on some young thug one day.
