They should say NOTHING.

Run classic ads. Men Of Genius, Bud Frogs, Bud Bowl, Spuds Mackenzie. For each time that they run those ads sell their beer at the price it was during the time of the ad.

They should rebrand first and jettison the Bud Light name. It's broken, and even if they do everything right from here on out, they will never regain what they had.

Their brand is the Ford Pinto in the 1970s. It's Jack in the Box in the 1990s. It's the Boeing 737-Max in 2020.

So their idea is a commercial with a bunch of oafs, idiots, and simpletons bumbling about?

That’s actually probably exactly how they see their customer base.

The direct quote from the marketing lady that started all this was
quote:

"We had this hangover, I mean Bud Light had been kind of a brand of fratty, kind of out-of-touch humor, and it was really important that we had another approach,”

So yes, whether you call it idiots or out of touch or simple or deplorabe, it's the same thing and that is exactly how they see us.

Pay no attention to the submarine that just sploded and killed five people because the owner thought 50yo white submariners were "not inspiring".

What's crazy is that this was a pretty good ad. Never was a Bud Light fan though. Maybe if they had went with this instead of Mulvaney, they'd be in a different place right now.

They need to hire a hot chick with big boobs to be in their commercials. Maybe even show some cleavage. Show guys doing cool guy stuff. Go back to having people with unreasonably nice bodies and good looks like the good ole days.

This colossal ongoing clusterfrick should be described in Chapter 1 of every Marketing 1001 textbook from now til eternity to show how even one of the world's biggest (and well-respected) corporations can frick itself up from within by playing politics.

Y’all still don’t get it

They don’t CARE about customers anymore

They care about their ESG scores so (((Larry Fink))) and BlackRock will continue investing billions of dollars in their company.

If they don’t … BlackRock invests in your competitor

They aren’t trying to win over customers anymore. They’re trying to win over Larry Fink.

Should also be included within every Executive MBA course as well to show what poor leadership will do for a company. They seem to be laying this all at the feet of the marketing exec but someone above her greenlit this shite.

This to me is the most baffling shite. This went before some Board of Directors, presumably a bunch of "experts" on marketing and sales... they watched that and said...

"Yeah, that looks like a winner, let's run with that one!"

And at this point the the only ones still drinking their shite beer probably are just like those losers in the commercial.

Even when grudgingly and vaguely apologizing, they still clearly have contempt for their core customer. They'd still rather have their shite beer being drunk by Zoomer theys of color and are embarrassed about who actually buys their beer. Or, at least, their ad agencies are.

You can't boycott everything, but you also don't have to give your money to a company that hates you and has a shitty and entirely fungible product.

Why did anyone ever drink bud light? It has a non-offensive taste since it lacks it which means it can be consumed in vast quantities.

This and it doesn’t sit heavy like an IPA. It’s not bad tasting it’s just a light easy beer to drink. Which is why what they did was so stupid because BL wasn’t unique. Coors, Miller, etc all serve the same purpose and easily substitute BL

What a stupid commercial to try and win people back. It’s random people doing stupid things acting like cavemen.

Dig that hole deeper Bud Light/Anheuser.

Don’t rule out out seeing Bud Light there.

Fair enough. But like Jack in the box and Boeing, just wait it out.

Bud and InBev have enough products to just shut up and wait the public out. “Fixing” the problem will only blow up. Piss off the same people AGAIN or get cancelled by the twats on Twitter.

Cheap Bud Light and time will slowly draw people back. Face it. If you’re looking for cheap light Lager Bud Light is ok.
