There is nothing like progressives stepping all over themselves.

Why did anyone ever drink bud light? Did people actually like the taste or just trying to get drunk?
It was an easy choice and widely available. And when I was 16 I could get old black dudes to buy me a case for a bottle of malt liquor.

Did the same thing when I had to stay in Jackson, MS for a school competition.

The attempt of "We all make mistakes " is not the way to go.
Imagine if Delta Airlines did that ad campaign after a plane crash.
The company did make a mistake, but their biggest mistake is critiquing and looking down on their vast customer base. Further, they're still hanging on to woke chick who started it all.

quote:Now that you mention it, the ad does have a very European feel to it. European humor seems to me to involve a lot of self-deprecation, even humiliation, that Americans just don't appreciate. They also seem to give points for being clever to a greater extent than we do.
They never did these stunts when they were an American owned beer. Their experts are telling them the boycott is almost over, and the MSM is writing a ton of little drivel articles celebrating the end of the redneck revolt.
American humor has become more absurdist (think Family Guy or Dave Chapelle), and "clever" just pisses people off.
It goes to show how different large groups of people are from each other, and that's a phenomenon the internet has made obvious. We are NOT all in "this" together.

The fact that this freak has a position of power now is what Americans really should be alarmed about.

it's a commercial full of moronic men fartin' around and a handful of unattractive or semi-attractive women, all within the same diverse framework of "ok next shot needs to be a black man, the one after that needs to be a white woman and minority woman, ok now a bumbling white man with competent black man to follow, ok now minority woman". it's no different than virtually every other commercial in that regard, but it's still completely missing the mark in any attempt at a legit recovery effort. they just want people to forget.

They should say NOTHING.
Run classic ads. Men Of Genius, Bud Frogs, Bud Bowl, Spuds Mackenzie. For each time that they run those ads sell their beer at the price it was during the time of the ad.

Deer camp will be a lot different this year because everyone I hunt with in SE Arkansas only drank Bud Light.

That's a great idea. Ditch the solid blue can, which looks like shite anyway, and go with labels and ads from their classic eras. Almost like a "which was your bud" kinda thing. Miller lite went back to their classic branding, and it's worked for them.
But Bud Light won't do this, because it's more politically enlightened to make fun of their consumer base.

Honestly, there is some chance an exec got on ChatGPT and asked how they can fix this situation.
My vote is they license the “shake that bear” video and get Kid Rock to do a new theme song about titties and beer.

The latter but at one time the Budweiser/Bud Light commercials were some of the absolute best on TV and that carried over into the grocery store.
This, and for years, Bud Light had effectively been The Brand of Joe Six Pack. Working men getting off their shift were picking up a case on their way home, ready to start the weekend.
One awful move in the Tranny Wars, and they destroyed an entire generation of successful branding.

And yet no one in the ad was drinking Bud light

this is actually pretty clever. not sure if they could get away with the price thing, but even without that, just completely going throwback is their best bet. old school cans and all.

Tigerdroppings has threads about Bud Light. And now we have this ad banner....
I'm expecting a Texas A&M advert any moment now.
