No way do they build one in Lafayette then on an hour up the road.

Laffy is getting a Bucs? How did I miss this story? I am on TD 23 hours a day, and have a trained staff to monitor all posts if I am forced to be absent

You'd think University of America Laffy affholes would be rubbing this in BR's face 24/7

I don't believe this. Cities do not provide tracts to business to develop

It’s the infrastructure that the city either has or will build to make it business friendly. They will build access roads, exits, drainage, etc. The cities also offer tax incentives to attract businesses.

uc-ees in a two hour drive. One in Baytown, one in Cypress, one in Waller and one in Giddings. The ones in Cypress and Giddings are the smaller type stores.

Perhaps but they are on completely different HWYs.

Baytown is on I10. Waller is 290. I guess I12 is technically different than I10, but not in the way 290 and I10 are different. Isn't there one in Mississippi close to after the border?

I would hardly call the ones in Cypress and Giddings legit ones. Barely bigger than a normal gas station (especially inside). That area is also probaby closer to the owner's heart since he is an Aggie.

what's the OT's obsession with this gas station? Extremely overrated IMO.

That would have made more sense originally. Millerville was a really stupid location for one.

Agreed, and it would have been one of the 53,000 square-foot models. The ones they’re building today are 74,000 ft.².

He was arguing proximity. These stores are close. On I-10 alone in Texas you have large ones in Baytown, Katy, and Luling.

That would make sense. Not much on the big stretch of I12.

I also think one coming from Baton Rouge into New Orleans would do ok. Either right before or right after that dead zone where there are no stations.

Cities do not provide tracts to business to develop. Businesses find tracts to develop. On occasion, government officials will try to solicit businesses to come in but usually with policies.

The cities do two things. They help resolve issues in a speedy manner (e.g. encourage utility companies to move power lines), They also entice with tax subsidies. Best I can tell, Buc-ee’s need healthy subsidies for their business model to work.

With one in Lafayette and one in Mississippi, I doubt there will be one in Livingston.

Not quite the same population as Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Livingston.

What about the 75 miles between the one in Pass Christian and Loxley?

It’s the experience and oxytocin boost you get from seeing a Bucees.
