I remember those DWI checkpoints while I was at LSU. Hell there was even a Facebook group that would forewarn people about where BRPD would be set up for the evening. People would get ambushed all the time leaving the Bulldog.

I see. Look I understand what you guys are getting at and this will be my last post in this thread on this slight topic detail. “They don’t arrest whites for doing (insert crime). But they arrested me because I am black” is a straw man argument re personal responsibility. I’m not advocating for disparate treatment under the law. And I’m certainly not hollier or attempting to hold a moral high ground. I’ve made and will continue to make my mistakes. I absolutely hate the police state that we now live in. But I do believe in accepting the consequences and not using what happened or didn't happen to other people as an excuse.
Re the topic - Murphy Paul is a piece of shite that SWB employs at her pleasure. The power brokers of BR are ok and endorse this. Let’s see he fired a white guy that gave an interview critizing him. Said it was against policy. Didn’t break a law.

BRPD used to be a really good police department. It is a shell of its former self and getting worse by the day. They’re replacing professional, experienced officers quitting due to the bullshite they’re forced to endure with new recruits who wouldn’t have gotten a call back from HR even five years ago. It all starts at the top.

On the plus side, it makes it easier not to give a frick about what St George passing does to the BRPD and BRFD budgets.

I don't care if it's Joe Blow citizen asking the question. If a tax payer is asking questions, shouldn't they have to answer? Also how shitty are the real reporters in BR? Kiran is handing them a story and they won't touch it.
Why not get a reporter from a Lafayette paper come to BR and ask the questions?
