I'm surprised they even had 40. Why would anyone want to be a cop in br right now?

Houston PD website:

Positions Base Salary*
Cadet $42,000 – $46,420
Police Officer $53,369 – $91,318
Sr. Police Officer $79,949- $107,479
Police Sergeant $88,909- $115,669
Police Lieutenant $98,469- $126,125
Police Captain $118,592 - $138,427

on the other hand. from my experiences with HPD.....they make entirely too much if these are accurate figures.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Why would one want to be a cop in today's environment when you have no support from majority of the masses. Including the mayor.

These new heightened standards for law enforcement will surely work out exactly as the professional Race Grievance Industry intended.

Dallas is having the same issues.

Nobody wants to be a police officer.

Was coming to say cities are having trouble b/c of affluent suburbs offering MUCH higher Pay with EXPONENTIALLY less stress.

Plano/Frisco/McKinney and the like are much more attractive than Dallas.

Same is going on now with well run Sheriffs departments in the AP and LP, EBRSO will continue to lose and BRPD as well.

That's not good for the city.

And that's all I have to say. I'm not touching this one.

Got banned for 2 years for making a
Horrible insensitive comment about cops that I regret.

Won't do it ever again but I wonder if the sterling shooting has anything to do with this

frick that child raping POS drug dealer.

Maybe the fact that some BLM terrorist murdered 4 cops and wounded others because Your embraced "community" made, once again, a useless, worthless thug into a pillar of the community.

Blood is on your hands.

When your council members march to celebrate the scum of the city and want to lynch law enforcement, then a carpetbagger mayor comes riding the Gravy Train and promises to punish cops, you and your ilk are responsible for the blight that awaits this city.

BLAST AND DAMN YE!

This is how the real trouble starts. Now they will lower standards and take people they would have screened out previously. Those people will become the "bad apples" that will cause problems down the road. Reference NOPD in the 90's.

This. And that's how things go from bad to worse in places like jackson and Detroit and soon Baton Rouge.
