She may have. I can't remember their last name. It has been a minute since back then. I remember the drowning, but don't remember who it was. It was a few years later that Otis Trimble drowned over in Mandeville. He was a hero to us.

All BRPD is now is a group of people that do not live in the city, and only does clean up after incidents.

BRPD is on a downhill spiral.
Really not needed as we have a metro council form of government.
We should also only have 1 fire dept for the parish and 1 sheriffs office.

It may not happen immediately, but give it 20 years mostly due to the cost of running the dept.

Let them go, and add a bunch of deputies. Also, take away that council on aging's funds that is run by crooks. Use that money to properly fund the Neighborhood Sniper Program.

CNN and liberal media is to blame for all this crap when they ran off half the force last year when covering every cop related killing in the country under the false pretense that was regularly happening in every city in every hour of the day. Don Lemon deserves to get robbed and no cops ever show up when he desperately calls them

Had Mrs. Begley for home room and biology. One of the (alleged)suspects was also in that class- EVEN AFTER the (purported) incident.
We watched them the way bar patrons must have watched two opposing gunfighters, alot of grudging respect for Mrs. Begley and unmitigated props to the dude who showed back up after having a shotgun pulled on his car.

What year did the blessed event occur? I remember it being on the news, and in The State Times, and Morning Advocate. I cannot find it online.

They never even considered charging her. It was just a different time.

School year 1976/77... (moment of silence for for my lost youth)

Don't understand the downvotes, Hangit, your description of it as blessed event is hilariously appropriate.

Maybe they think we are highjacking this thread. If there are enough old school Broadmoor Bucs around, Mrs. Begley's (alleged) shotgun blast heard round the teacher's lounge certainly merits it's own discussion.

When was this? I graduated in '84 with a Begley.

Yeah, but it’s in Rough Rouge. It doesn’t have to be.

EBR library has digital version of '77. Try:

Carl Otis Trimble
---I was at the LSU-Colorado game in '74--his best performance. I don't know why it's stuck in my head for 48 years, but I remember the scoreboard read,

"You'll Notice Carl Otis"

From someone I know who lives nearby --- Apparently this was at a vacant house that had partially burned recently. Has been For Sale for a long time. It's relatively isolated (by Broadmoor standards) as it's right next to a large utility right-of-way. Maybe some kind of squatter/transient beef?

Was right near there today so I went to see the cross and see if it was a boy or a girl that drowned. The cross and post were gone. Saw the old drainage pipe and the concrete filling the hole, but that’s it. Sad they removed it, it’s not like it was in anybody’s way or anything.
