I don't remember when Houston started getting BA flights to and from London.

probably because I was not even born yet.

Where do you think AF1 lands when the president comes to town?

MSY could handle the A380.

How long of a flight is it from MSY to London? I would love to make a trip out there.

From OP

Flights would leave London at 3 p.m. and arrive in New Orleans at 7:30 p.m. Outbound flights would leave New Orleans at 9:40 p.m. and arrive in London at around noon the next day.

know Air Force One is equipped differently, but it lands with zero problem.

Air force one has landed at shreveport regional many times, in fact, I believe they serviced them for a while (technically not air force one, since pres isnt aboard)

Point being if shreveport intergalactic airport cN handle it, I am sure msy can

DFW-London Heathrow is 8:45
IAH-London Heathrow is 8:50 to 9:05 depending on airline

MSY-LHR should be comparable flight times.

I will need to seek medical attention because my boner resulting from this announcement will last longer than four hours.

Appears it isn't a runway length issue, but a weight issue.

Yes and No. an A380 could land at MSY, but MSY doesn't have any gates equipped to handle it. an A380's wing is 50' wider than a 747's.
