Thing I recall most about Waco and Ruby Ridge is knowing 100% that Janet Reno didn’t sleep her way to the top.

Well played
But Ruby Ridge was April 1992.

You mean the things that are not in Feds purview? Tell us when these became a Federal issue.
How about the made up stories about a meth lab on the grounds so that military assets could be requested?
Everyone here knows that Koresh was a freaking weirdo.
But the Feds screwed this up royally, there was no reason to go punching holes in their compound with tanks and CS gas. Then lying and covering things up made it even worse.

Of course DK could have just not done so much fricked up shite and eventually lead those people to their death

Can't say it was handled correctly in hindsight but for him to be screwing 11 year old girls....

Fun fact - Branch Davidians still exist as a religious sect, though a very small one.

I understand what you're saying and agree in a sense, but I also don't feel alot of sympathy for the untimely death of child abusers.

That part of the ABC special was rough. Hearing that the mother of the 11 year old actually set it up for DK to have sex with the child at a hotel room was disturbing. And wasn't the mother one of his "wives" as well?

I suspect the combination of cult, child abuse (he was sleeping with 14 year olds and up, plus all of the kids were beaten daily), and a full arsenal of weapons was a bit too much for the local yokel authorities. David Koresh had to be stopped but the Fed’s completely blew the operation. Those people died because of it.

I think Koresh considered all the women to be his wives. And I think he made the other men take vows of celibacy.

There was a hundred different ways that situation could have been handled that wouldn't have resulted in dead women and children.
Ok then how would you suggest clearing a compound or religious fanatics / extremist that have a death wish and are heavily armed?
You don’t have to list all “hundreds of ways”. 20-30 should be fine

Just crazy the mindset of those men, goes to show the cult mentality and how much he had brainwashed him.
"Ok I'll be celibate but enjoy my wife David"
They showed a few of the children grown up on the special. Can only imagine the amount of therapy they have had to go through to have some sort of semblance of normalcy in their lives.

What about men? Does their life matter? Or just women and children?

Are you sure? Bill Clinton was a seed spreader of legendary status. His standards probably weren’t too high either. That said, Janet may not have been seeking what Slick Willy was selling, so you could be right.

Yeah. Like not committing mass suicide by fire.
Or perhaps arresting Koresch on one of his many times per week trips into town.
There was zero tactical reason that 1) they could not have grabbed him outside of the compound, 2) there was no reason to move in on the compound, waiting them out could have happened easily.
Also, you have to look at this through the filter of also understanding what happened at Ruby Ridge when the government also murdered citizens.

Chip and Joanna could have saved those people. Chip would knock out a wall or two and Joanna would have covered the place with wagon wheels and rustic Knick knacks and a big assed sign saying "antiques".
Serious note, you can tell how angry those ATF agents are, that there was a systemic protracted frick up an miscalculation. The worst being a raid in the first place. I never knew Koresh was seen all over Waco. Just pick him up alone in town?
Those Davidians would have been completely lost.

The poor kids subjected to all that.
With that said, the siege was not handled appropriately at all and it sounds like they had numerous times they could have arrested Koresh in town instead.
Not to mention it led to McVeigh OKC bombing.
