With that said, the siege was not handled appropriately at all and it sounds like they had numerous times they could have arrested Koresh in town instead.
Not to mention it led to McVeigh OKC bombing.

Is this the one with Taylor Kitsch and Michael Shannon?

Comply or die. When the feds or SWAT shows up, you can comply and face the judge for your crimes, or you can try to fight back and die
.
The only embarrassment is your "take" on what happened. Koresh was insane and the world is a much better place without him and his foolish followers.

Ok then how would you suggest clearing a compound or religious fanatics / extremist that have a death wish and are heavily armed?
Lol, prior to the siege they could have arrested DK any time they wished at a grocery store or gas station as he traveled openly in public.
How about that one, no need for 20-30 ways, federal law enforcement set up the entire confrontation through massive stupidity and ineptitude.

McVeigh was at Waco as a spectator.
He may have still bombed The Fed building, but to think Waco didn’t influence him would be wrong.

they are 100% interconnected.
His version below
quote:
"I chose to bomb a federal building because such an action served more purposes than other options. Foremost the bombing was a retaliatory strike; a counter attack for the cumulative raids (and subsequent violence and damage) that federal agents had participated in over the preceding years (including, but not limited to, Waco). From the formation of such units as the FBI's Hostage Rescue and other assault teams amongst federal agencies during the 80s, culminating in the Waco incident, federal actions grew increasingly militaristic and violent, to the point where at Waco, our government - like the Chinese - was deploying tanks against its own citizens.

For somewhat obvious reasons the Feds kinda tryed to downplay this a bit.

There are news interviews with McVeigh outside of the compound during the siege.

I'm of the opinion that Timothy M. bombed the OKC Building for multiple reasons. Ruby Ridge & Waco played a massive role. But he was lost in his own world for many other reasons (Turner Diaries). He would have found something else to blow up or be infamous for even if these two events didn't happen.

This was public knowledge, not exactly sure what whiskey boy is on about here.

You still have a compound to deal with and all the evidence inside

Yeah he was selling bumper stickers and books from the hilltop/farm area.

Perhaps. But to say that the connection between Waco and OKC are just the imagination of conspiracy theorists is disingenuous.

i'm zeroing in on the "David could have been arrested in the town" conversation. I thought that the only thing that the FBI tripped up on was asking a local (They didn't know this individual was a member of Branch Davidian) about the compund. Which led to this deal kicking off.

Good lord, the stupidity in this thread.

Feds fricked up and murdered the cult.
That said, the American people deserve as much of the blame as the feds. Public opinion had been mounting for weeks for the Feds to do something to end it. The American people as a whole were supporting a federal assault with force on the compound and the Feds gave them what they wanted.
I remember this, I believe I was in early high school. I definitely remember many dinner conversations on what was happening and my dad and others strongly saying for days and weeks to get in there and kill the wack jobs.

A compound without a fanatical leader not under siege is a bit different animal than what occured, I get it as a LEO you are always going to fall out on their side but to most any non biased person this was a major screw up.
Escalation of force is not always the right answer.

The government caused the crisis. And then they ended it.
You figure it out.

Why do you think the above are mutually exclusive? DK was not sneaking around and hiding prior to the siege, he drove around openly and they asked the wrong person a question.
How about watch him until he leaves the compound and arrest him when he is isolated? Seems simple even for the feds but then you dont get to play with your tacticool toys.

there are different versions of this and not sure which side is telling the truth on this one but unnanounced armed men attacking your residence tends to elicit a response, especially from folks with a persecution complex.

A predictable response when those people are well armed as well.
Feds fricked this up. They started the shite, they ended the shite. It is 90% on them from start to finish. Again though, the American people (as a whole) were clamoring for the Feds to "whip their ads and frick em up" after a few feds were taken down in the initial attack and as the siege continued so their is blame there as well.
