Unfortunately, the Olympics in general are a mess. I happen to know 2 people who are pretty well connected and they both agree that it is equivalent to dealing with small town politics.
But it sounds like a great party!

So in 2023 they were not allowed to fight but in the Olympics they were allowed to? Wow.

The boxing competition at Paris 2024 is taking place under International Olympic Committee rules after the IOC stripped the IBA of its status as the global governing body for the boxing.
IBA chief executive Chris Roberts said he could not disclose the results of the gender eligibility tests but that the pair's disqualification from the 2023 women's World Championships meant the public could "read between the lines".
That kind of statement should be banned. So the IBA, which was stripped of its authority to operate international competition due to corruption, suggests that we should simply imagine why it made the decision that it made? Well, we can imagine anything. That doesn't confirm anything. No wonder the IBA was banned from overseeing Olympic boxing.

This really upsets me. I have been looking forward to the women’s boxing 66-kilogram competition since Tokyo

IBA chief executive Chris Roberts said he could not disclose the results of the gender eligibility tests but that the pair's disqualification from the 2023 women's World Championships meant the public could "read between the lines".
The IBA is backed by the Russian energy giant Gazprom, which has led IOC officials and others to suggest the boxing controversy was calculated to discredit the Paris Games after Russia was excluded from them because of its invasion of Ukraine.
IBA Russian president, Umar Kremlev, claimed that DNA test results showed the two athletes have XY chromosomes, citing it as the reason they were disqualified in the world championships. The IBA also cited high levels of testosterone in Khelif's system. However, the test results were never published.
The IBA disqualification came after Khelif defeated Russian boxer Azalia Amineva in the 2023 tournament. The IBA said it stripped Lin of a bronze medal because it claimed she failed to meet unspecified eligibility requirements in a biochemical test.
The IOC has long criticized the IBA and its governance of the sport and eventually banned the Russian-run organization in 2019. In a statement Friday, the IOC said it stands by the athletes and their eligibility to compete, noting that the IBA's own documents say the decision was made unilaterally by the IBA's secretary general.
Those documents also say the IBA went on to resolve at a meeting that it should “establish a clear procedure on gender testing” after it had already disqualified the two fighters.
What we have is a corrupt individual in a corrupt Russian organization that disqualified a boxer AFTER that boxer beat a Russian competitor. That organization had no clear procedure on gender testing, and it has no documents to support the result it reached.

That makes more sense than the rhetoric that the boy lovers are spewing on the Olympics board.
