Boston is definitely a nice and clean place, but I definitely saw a lot of homeless folks when I was there a few years ago. Even though it is probably pretty liberal I would much rather live there than say New York.

He probably means quality. After all, the water is colder and deeper there.
As for preparation, you´re correct. The eastern seaboard is chock full of insipidness.

Not to knock Boston really, but when I went I saw tons of homeless people. The streets were not clean, and the people were rude. That's what I expect in any city, though. Doesn't make it a bad place.

Very very few homeless people in Boston. I maybe saw 1 or 2 in Boston. Compared to 4 a day I. Chicago I’ll
You missed the bad areas then. I also like Boston a lot but the “Methadone Mile” area is SCARY.
That being said, it is relatively confined and the people of Boston don’t take shite. So I have found homeless there to be less aggressive especially when compared to Austin or California.

You mean Methadone Mile? I've never heard of Heroin Haven.
But yes, as I mentioned before, Meth Mile is ROUGH. Not dangerous for people just driving by, but you don't want to be out walking around at night (although realistically there's no reason you would be out there unless you're looking for drugs).

I’m sure there are plenty of homeless people in Boston, but I see more here on a daily basis than I see on a long weekend up there

Favorite place I've lived. Really hoping to move back up there. Probably never should've left. But something about hindsight and 20/20 and all.

The names usually change once, at Canal. And the layout follows the river. You just can't use cardinal compass points.
I love all the down votes as if I’m bad mouthing Nola, where I was born and raised.
To your point:
West End Blvd becomes Lakeshore Drive, Wisner becomes Carrollton, and try and figure the mess at the intersection of DeSaix, St. Bernard, Gentilly, etc. Those are just a few examples, but there are many more. Head down river on Rampart and all of a sudden it’s St. Claude.
Ask a visitor that explores the city by car for a few days if it’s easy to navigate.

The street grid in Boston and Pittsburgh confuse the hell out of me.
Go to Cleveland some time. They don’t even put street signs up.

Seriously though. My dad was born and raised Roxbury and I've heard some of his stories. Boston is more racist than people care to admit.
I don’t think that’s true
Tons of people know it as a racist city
And it’s definitely been out there especially with social media
Especially among Bruins fans

I was looking at a website that listed the current values of the real homes shown in famous movies/series.
Most were in the $600K to Millions range
Except the house from A Christmas Story (Cleveland) which is currently valued at $97K

It really is great. I'd go back every fall if I could. And it does have amazing food. Most of the people who complain about it being bland are those who eat at a hotel or a tourist trap, which is no different than eating at the "Pontalba Cafe" or the host of other trash next to Jackson Square.

Boston is amazing. Probably the best 'big city' in the country. For all the reasons you listed plus it has really good public transportation.
