trump gave companies a hell of a tax break. And here we are,as expected.
Taking care of themselves.
Go on line and shop your resumes around, you might find out you can wind up with a better situation.
There is no need anymore to be married to a company since pensions don't exist anymore.

10s of millions of people have filed for unemployment in the last 90 days.

I don’t. That is a perk that companies offer to entice good talent. If you own a company and your competition offers 401K, it will be harder to get employees if you don’t. The O&G industry went through this 5 years ago. No one cared. Now other industries are dealing with this. My health benefits were cut, 401k cut, furloughs, salary reduction. It all came back when O&G companies started hiring again. Much easier for a company to reinstate 401k compared to that salary reduction...
We never lost our 401K but we lost our bonus’ and those never really returned.

I've heard alot about 401k matches stopping, PTO accrual stopping, and forced to take a certain amount of PTO a month.
Luckily, I haven't seen any of that but my company is based out of the country and they don't ever offer a match to 401k, so that just kinda sucks, Covid or no Covid,

If I was in commercial real estate, I’d be shitting bricks. How many large corporations now realize they can save millions by having employees work from home?
They no longer need 12 floors downtown. Maybe two floors for conference rooms and visitor offices. Once those leases expire, good luck finding a tenant.

Have you ever taken stock of how many of your posts include you calling someone an idiot or stupid or retarded? Just curious. It's a lot of them.
Do you, but you seem deeply insecure, for what it's worth.

I expect many companies to cut 401k matching
And maybe never to reinstate
I don’t think so, ECB. It will get reinstated because it is a benefit that is valued by the employee at more than the cost to the employer.

That's not my fault. Most people on this board talk out of their arse and can be proven wrong with 5 seconds of research.

We recently had a benefit survey sent to us with all kinds of crappy scenarios that you had to pick which you favored. Everyone offered a small increase in one benefit with a huge reduction in something else.
I have 31 yrs with them, the way the questions were set up things important to me might not appeal to younger employees. I have a pension that those hired after 2008 don’t, matching 401k, and pretty good insurance at a good price and a shitload of bacation. Expecting some of that to be changed.

Completely different

You can definitely negotiate some perks if you're taking a pay cut and losing a match.
Or you could just take it on the chin and not even try to get something out of it.

Good for you, hopefully you get to keep it.
From what I see in my position loyalty on either side is dead and gone. Young people like me must bounce companies to get appreciable promotions/raises, and the old guys get bought out and sent out becuase they cost too much.

Good luck with that, millions upon millions have lost their jobs in the last several weeks. Everyone at companies is taking reductions, losing benefits, etc, they aren't making an exception for some lower level employee.
You're more than welcome to try and get that $250/week in unemployment though

I tend to agree, but I've heard other arguments that companies will want more space to spread out employees.
Still hard to believe that will offset work from home movements.
