Along with a slight salary decrease. Woohoo. I’ll consider myself lucky and thankful I live within my means and don’t have a wife or kids. Hopefully as well this isn’t a sliding slope into another round of layoffs (my office seems to have survived this round). Sucks. Hope the Ultimate economic impact Of all of this is worth the potential lives saved.

I’ll be very curious if enough places stop matching retirement and never bring it back that it’ll fade like Private pensions have.

Doubtful. Pensions are nearly extinct because of the incredibly high costs from lower and lower interest rates over time. 401ks as a benefit are still relatively cheap.

They announced suspension of 401k match for Q3 for us a month ago.

But merit raises just got approved so we anticipate 401k match coming back for Q4.

And what's frustrating about that is the people who decide on something like that make enough to where they don't even need a 401k.

I expect many companies to cut 401k matching
And maybe never to reinstate

Not really. It sounds a little selfish for the people making those decisions. The matching part was supposed to be a benefit of working for a particular company. A very basic benefit at that.

You should ask them what you're getting in exchange for forfeiting this

Half days on Friday? If they're making you sacrifice you should get some benefit from it.

Rest assured Fauci, Broome, Destroya, JBE are all getting full pay, full benefits.

We are all in this together!
