What a stroke of good fortune that the poor bastard who got whacked for not being able to cover had your shoe size.
It’s so damn hard to find size 4s, it was a miracle.

Elephant if you can find them. My local mom and pop boot store just got 3 pair in. They're already broken in and feel amazing.
I like these
Safari Blue Elephant

round toe, full quill ostrich always looks good for casual wear, IMO. My Justins have served me well.

Have Ostrich. Wore the F out of them. Still look good and never did any care on them.

I have 4 pair of Tecovas, the ostrich ones are the most comfortable. I also bout a set of buffalo from Tecovas and they are very durable

Anderson Bean ostrich.

There is so much personal preference in a question like h the OP asked.
I like ropers. I have the Tecovas lizard ropers and like them.
But some people like the different western styles.

Whale wiener skin. Water proof for life.

Grandpa got a pair of pre ban sea turtle boots. Bitches are slick.

depends on where you live. Alligator seems more popular in LA. Ostrich more Texan...etc.
Depends on what you like. Get both!

What do you wear them for?
I have Caiman, ostrich, shark, elephant (pre-embargo) and a couple pair of regular leather.
The toughest I have is the elephant hide. I’ve had them since 1989 and I have no idea how many times they’ve been re-soled. The skin is still like new.
Caiman and ostrich are “dressier” but that fricking elephant is tough.

Why are all yall trolling him with the Ostrich and alligator recommendations.
Dude they trying to make you look foolish. What you need is some black and white pythons with pointed toes. Make sure to get them to add the silver tips to the boots. And for the love of God don’t fall for the trap of buying the conditioner. You don’t need it. After some time the scales will get these nice curls in them unless you out that crappy conditioner on them. Just listen to me son and I’ll have you styling and profiling

Ostrich is easily the best leather as far as comfort goes. I have multiple pairs of exotics and the Ostrich hands down.
This is the way
I also had a great pair of python boots years back that the scales flaked up on and were very unique. Second most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned, save for the ostriches.

I've seen a pair of Justin elephant boots from the early 80's that look brand new. A well built pair of elephant boots should last a long, long time.
But the real answer is vintage sea turtle or anteater, if your fly enough to make them work.
