No, I don't see it that way at all and yes there is more to the story. I’m a boomer and I retired extremely comfortable at 61 in 2016.

I’ve been married for 50 years this year. I’m blessed with two happily married children who are extremely conservative raising 6 grandkids who are also extremely conservative.

I came from nothing, but made something.

If you can’t replace the boomers at your place of work, then perhaps they are making contributions greater than yours.

As a former CEO I didn't care what generation you were from, but what your contributions were to the company.

I will give you some advice. The younger generations likes to job shop. They chase the larger weekly/monthly paycheck and not a career.

When I received a resume from someone and they had frequent job changes, like 3 or 4 in 10 years the resume went straight to the garbage pail. Anyone who had military service went to the top of the list because I knew they were disciplined and loyal.

If you are with a solid company stick with them. Ask them what more can you do to advance. Volunteer for special projects. Don’t ask for a meeting to discuss your pay. Don’t ever tell your boss that you had a better offer because Immediately your boss will look for your replacement and you will not know until you are terminated.

Now for the hard part for financial freedom that most don’t follow. Take on no debt by age 40 including your home. If you have a mortgage make extra principal payments each month regardless how little. If you want to buy a vehicle create a savings account so you can pay cash. What you charge on your credit cards pay it off every month. And if you can’t pay cash for something you want to buy, then don’t buy it.

I’m a Millennial myself and I’m a conservative as many I know are that are men, but what you say about the younger generations voting D is true but you have to hope they will begin to conserve with age as most groups do.

This is nonsense.

The people who work hard aren't rewarded. Period. The better you are at your job, the more responsibility is put on you. Then when review time comes, there's no promotion and we are offered a 4%-5% "cost of living" raise. When we take interviews elsewhere, we are gaining 30%-40% pay raises. Boomers are the ones who refuse to reward hard work.

And your point about not being able to replace boomers is also a comically terrible take. Boomers refuse to retire and just hang around the office as "consultants" with ridiculously inflated salaries, all while doing absolutely nothing. This clogs up the promotion line and eats up large swaths of budgets so that the people below them who are actually doing real work, can't get the pay raises that match market rates.

Boomers are the absolute worst. The only reason you are where you are is because you were born first. That's it. Your generation is the absolute worst to work with. Inflated ego, inflated sense of worth, and you can't complete the simplest of tasks without asking someone to help you.

As I stated in a previous post, I cannot wait for your generation to be gone from this earth.

I just searched to see how many US senators are 70 years old and older, its 29.. 29% of the US senate. 6 of them are 80+. The median age is 64-65. Just a FYI
