I thought this place was in dire straights after the owner was jailed for some type of fraud.

Just passed there, how many active warrants can be served in that parking lot?

The place where the owner painted BLM on the ground in the parking lot? Not my kind of place.

The service is dreadful. They act like they don’t want you there.

Honestly I can’t believe it’s still open. I figured that would be the death knell.

There’s never anybody there. Ever. I assumed it’s a money laundering front. You can’t survive in BR business by running off whitey.

I think it is part of the "bar rescue" version for restaurants.

I went there one time, it was the first and last time.

I think there is some type of catering business associated with it also.

There is another BBQ restaurant down Coursey across from salad station that manages to stay open with no cars in the lot (Old School BBQ). And another BBQ place right next to podnuhs's on sherwood that I never see anyone at.

Having restaurants with no customers must be some type of new-fangled business plan I've never heard of.

Boil and Roux has covered "Black Live" with green outdoor carpet and picnic tables. You can still see "S MATTER".

Racists.

You're 100% wrong. There are lots of evenings when that place is completely packed, especially when they have live music. The cars will completely fill up not only their own parking spaces but also the CVS parking lot next door.

And, yes, that is a black-owned restaurant that largely caters to a black clientele. I've lived in that general area since 2000. It used to be a mostly white area, but it is quickly changing.

I used to occasionally go there for lunch and thought the food was good, though I thought it was a bit overpriced, but I haven't been in years now.

Surely this place must be as successful as the the Quarters place that closed.

I've heard Cinco de Mayo is the best celebration around that area. You can have chargers making donuts in the actual intersection of Coursey and Sherwood.

This clientele in BR has transformed this area into a real hotspot our city should be proud of.

Ironically enough I ate hundreds of Plantation Salads at that place when it was Calendars.
