Being an ex-Bogalusan I hope he has the wherewithal to make a real difference.

Long but worth the read. Good job young man.

Young baw has his chance to shine. Hope he does well.

Good luck to him.
I definitely wasn't responsible enough to do it at 23.
The headlines would have read "bogalusa mayor caught doing donuts in a field after funneling 9 natty lights" and then a second headline "Mayor fired police chief"

If he runs the City like a Republican, he'll be successful. If he doesn't, he won't be successful.

If anyone is interested in watching the movie it is available on Vimeo for $3.99

Perrette wished Truong well in her concession statement, but also said, “Young Tyrin has demonstrated repeatedly during this campaign that he lacks the skills necessary to lead and unite our city.”
I can guarantee based on this quote that he’s more qualified than Perrette.

I would be concerned if he is woke, CRT type.
Where is he coming from??? What is the Urban League business?
How woke to you have to be to achieve student body president???
Hope he works out but I would have concerns.

I guarantee you he’s the best educated mayor in bogalusa’s history. Pictures of Washington university (located in St. Louis, not to be confused with UW, GWU, or Washington and Lee) and bogalusa from google images:

My city elected a 19 year old to the City Council years ago. He was excellent. Got the employees into TMRS like every surrounding city instead of the 401K. He's an attorney now.

Dude could have gone anywhere and done anything. But he decided to move back to Bogalusa.
For that I respect him and I hope he succeeds in cleaning that slum up.

Here’s my negative take. He’s a democratic socialist with a drug dealing dad who funded his campaign. I won’t be surprised if all these shootings don’t suddenly stop as soon as he takes office.
My positive take is like everyone else here. I hope he does well. He’s walking in with a healthy budget. Bogalusa has some things going for it with the 4 lane highway coming.
I wonder what he’s going to do when he realizes that the paper mill barely pays any property taxes. If he goes after their itep exemption it might be chaos. The mill is the sacred cow of Bogalusa.
Due to it’s proximity to an ever expanding St Tammany, there’s room for growth if it weren’t for the “bad smell” reputation that the town has.
