A Boeing 737 Max due to be delivered to Ryanair has had the model's name changed on the nose of the aircraft, it has emerged. Photos shared on Twitter show a plane in Ryanair colours outside Boeing's manufacturing base, with the name 737 Max replaced by 737-8200. It has fuelled speculation that the troubled Max will be rebranded after two fatal accidents led to a worldwide grounding. Boeing and Ryanair have yet to comment.

This should be highly illegal in the US as its clear Boeing is trying to deceive the population.

Does the FAA grounding them now effect everyone? I realize they’re US but figured everyone kind of followed the same rules.

That is what you had to do in Roller Coaster Tycoon after an accident.

If they fix the problem and are going to one day use the 737Max, i hope they change the name to something different to where I do not know its the 737Max. And i hope they do it without my knowledge.

It makes sense. Who would want to knowingly fly on that type of Boeing even after they fix the problem and there are 0 issues with it. Not me!

Fix the issues, then quietly change the name without the public finding out.

I'll board it if they change it to 867-5309.

What?

They could name it the 737-won't ever crash and it won't matter if airlines don't purchase the plane.

Let the free market work, government intrusion is a terrible idea.

I remember when Boeing was a great company.

They got arrogant and let beancounters run the show.

Not at all surprised at these issues, tbh.

Article is fake news. 8200 is just the Max 8 200 seat variant.
