What's the point of shooting an officer? I guess the better question is what's the strategy? You're not getting away with it, and whatever you've done is going to be that much worse.
Look at my response above to Sabi. The average person is dumb. This guy is probably below even that. Our common sense is apparently not real world common sense.

Why would you laugh at her? She obviously knows him, and she reacted entirely appropriately. She was emotional, yes, but remained under control and then started praying for his survival. What would you laugh at?

These animals don't think 5 seconds in the future. It is immediate gratification animal instinct that dictates their behavior.
He probably was a convicted felon with drugs and a gun on him. So instead of getting arrested at that moment and going to jail for that, he decides to attempt to kill the threat that is impeding his next 5 seconds of freedom.

Walter Scott lunged at the officer and knocked the gun out of his hand before running away.
Ignorant and fake news to say he did nothing.

That maybe the case but shooting someone running away in the back is the act of a coward. If that cop was average he'd be looking at possibly life in prison.

Fckn animal with no regard for human life whatsoever. This pisses me off to no end.

Philando Castile who told the officer of his firearm
He was also told multiple times to stop reaching for it. When presented with evidence where the gun was, where he was reaching, and his refusal to stop reaching the cop was acquitted. Just like the 9 minute video or the "I know my rights" videos. Reaching where a cop can't see your hands especially when a gun is known to be present and the officer cannot see it puts you and the officer in a bad spot.
No person reaching for a gun ever announces that he is doing it if they have ill intentions. "I'm not reaching for it" "I'm just reaching for my information" " I ain't doing nothing"

Watching that is so, so upsetting for so many reasons.
The cop did quite literally everything you could do to get the guy to comply without violent means and he fricking shot him multiple times. Multiple. He kept shooting as the cop was running for his life. How many times have we heard BLM say that a cop should be put to death if he shoots a criminal when he's running away?

I think in that scenario where the person is not complying the officer should take them down earlier in the process. He asked him multiple times to comply, after a couple, it's time for action.

In most of these incidents, where we can get body camera footage I can at least empathize with both sides since usually it seems like poor decision making while in stressful situations. Mistakes are made, maybe even inexcusable mistakes, but they really seem outright nefarious.
In this case, the shooter had such a strangely casual demeanor, and such an outright disregard for the situation and any consequences, that it seemed like that was an example of a person with truly sociopathic tendencies.

Some people are crazy when it comes to when a policeman should draw and fire a weapon. One of my buddies thinks police should not be able to shoot at a suspect first, because they signed up for it. I dont agree with that, but the video of the policeman holding the guy at gunpoint in the car for 9 minutes is so excessive. Mainly because I don't believe in traffic stops.

Goddamn animals. Should've blew his fricking head off when he had the chance.

And people wonder why officers get "trigger happy" when dealing with someone that doesn't comply.
So police should be quick to pull the trigger if you fail to obey an order?
Holy moly.

you could not pay me enough to be a police officer

The bystander in the video that comes up to help the officer does a great job.
He did more than a great job. Not only did he stay with the officer, but he tried to keep him calm and keep talking to him and reassuring him that he wasn't leaving and that the cop would be okay and that the ambulance was on its way. Even tried to keep the women calm once they arrived.
That's how I hope to respond in that situation. Outstanding job, good Samaritan.

Absolutely. We have a case right now where a civil suit has been filed by a homeless man's family because he was shot and killed by an officer. The officers were responding to a home break-in call at an abandoned house in a part of town with a high rate of crime and drug use. The guy was crouched in the corner and didn't come out when they yelled for him to do so multiple times. When he finally did, he lunged at the cop with a meat skewer when they came through the doorway to the room he was in.
Of course they're claiming because he was mentally ill and that the officers were familiar with him that they shouldn't have shot him. It's so damn absurd.
The cop's body cam videos.

He survived his wounds and is expected to make a full recovery.

Lock him up and throw away the key

Really isn't a good excuse. Not unless they had hands on experience dealing with the guy and knew he was harmless.
Mentally ill are probably the most dangerous.
