So police should be quick to pull the trigger if you fail to obey an order?
In a situation where the officer asks you to show your hands and you refuse to do so, can you blame them?

His composure to still be able to relay to the officers arriving on scene that his glasses contained his body cam video and that it needed to be secured was amazing. Even through all of that, he was still conscientious that it was evidence that would be used at a trial, whether he survived or not. Well done sheepdog!

Yeah dude is a stud.
Video quality was pretty good too. I wonder which brand they were.

I agree.

about 8 or 9 minutes from shooting to when help gets there.
When you're alone and you've been shot, I figure that felt like a month.
(ETA: I get that there was someone there with him, but that's not the same as having a brother officer or first responder with you.)

What makes me most angry is that if he had drawn his gun instead of his taser, people would be saying "why did he draw a gun on a guy just walking down the street?!" Glad the officer made it. That bystander is awesome.

Well, fail to comply with an order is a very wide swath.

9 minutes in a situation like that feels like a lifetime.
Kudos to the officer and to the bystander.

"Show your hands" is a fairly straightforward command that is understood of the purpose.

That look right there would have had me switching from taser to firearm. That's the look of a man with bad intentions.

can't get to the live leak video, it mus show more than the one i saw.

Have you seen that outrage on Twitter because a cop hand a gun pointed at a guy for 9 minutes?
The media was so dismissive of the reason. The guy, with the officer right there, reaches under the seat.
In what fricking universe is that ever a good idea?

he gets close enough to the guy and he still won't stop walking, could he have lunged and tackled him?
According to the SJW of BR, the officer should have just waited for back up, I mean the guy was just walking around, just like AS was just standing there with a gun in his pocket.
This is whole thing is just like AS situtation, except one was walking not complying and one was standing there not complying even with less lethal measures being taken.

Agree. However that wasn't what I responded to.

Removing your hands from your pockets and showing them is about as narrow a swath as I can imagine. Do you think that was too much of the officer to ask?

This officer is doing just what BLM and all the Hug a Thugs say officers should be doing. Just walking along with the guy, repeating verbal commands and using a Taser and look what happens.
There's a difference between giving commands and walkin side by side with the guy who has his hand in his coat suspiciously and unfortunately having this happen to shooting someone from afar like Walter Scott who did nothing wrong. Or even Philando Castile who told the officer of his firearm and still was shot and killed in front of his girl friend and child. I promise you BLM and "Hug a Thug" persons aren't saying what you're incorrectly thinking

I like to remind myself that the average person is not smart and know that a good portion of the entire human race is dumber than that.
I believe those things are common sense but they really aren't I guess.

What's the point of shooting an officer? I guess the better question is what's the strategy? You're not getting away with it, and whatever you've done is going to be that much worse.

Yes I did, actually. This is what you responded to:
quote:
In a situation where the officer asks you to show your hands and you refuse to do so, can you blame them?
And your response was this:
quote:
Well, fail to comply with an order is a very wide swath.
So, you responded to a very specific post about showing hands, noting failure to comply with an order (showing of hands specifically being discussed) and labeled it a wide swath.
Thus, my response to you:
quote:
Removing your hands from your pockets and showing them is about as narrow a swath as I can imagine. Do you think that was too much of the officer to ask?
Seems on point, no?
