These have nothing to do with the shooting. Even if he was thug trash, he could still have been killed unjustifiably. This is not an opinion one way or the other.

Who cares. It’s completely irrelevant

I got a speeding ticket in 2018.
Do I deserve to get chased down and shot for walking through a house under construction?

None of which make the illegal citizens arrest and subsequent murder that followed, legal.

To me, I think there are two separate issues that people are combining into one
The first is the media's portrayal of this guy as just a wholesome, All American jogger who was hunted down and killed 1950's style SOLELY because he was black and for no other reason whatsoever. I think the more that comes out, the more we see (as in many cases where the media gets a hard-on for a "racial" issues) he wasn't the complete angel portrayed by the media.
That said, his past character doesn't mean he deserved to be killed or that the killers where in any, way, shape or form justified in their behavior.
In short, you can have issue with the media's unnecessary efforts to flame racial tension BUT ALSO agree the killing and aftermath by the police DA is definitely suspect

Did Aubrey have a police record?

This is an issue for me. I don't like the Trayvon treatment. Having said that, it doesn't mean Aubrey should have been killed. It also doesn't help that the DA and others involved seemed to have been shady. The actual trial should be very interesting, and is when I'll actually have an opinion on this

I really havent seen anyone here say that he was completely innocent. Its just that you cant gun someone down in the street because you believe they may or may have not stolen some nails from a construction site.

You hit the nail on the head.

Is there even a small contingent of people on this board who believe AA is some angel who's never done anything wrong?
Pro-McMichael people are ate up about media coverage that practically no one here has bought.

Other people, including kids, walked through the house at night. Why weren’t they hunted down and killed?
Posted on 5/20/20 at 10:37 am to Kujo
Who cares? Still doesn’t justify what happened

I've had some issues with this idea that this is a hate crime / racially motivated crime.
I don't think these rednecks did this just because the kid was black. I think they did this because they wanted to scare some sense into the kid, and it went horribly, horribly wrong.

It may not be related, but it doesn't come as a total shock that someone who behaves this way would somehow manage to meet an unfortunate end.
That's all.
That's all.

SO if you have an issue with how the media tends to portray these things you're automatically on the shooter's side? Hopefully I'm just reading too much into your post.

Absolutely
But people have kneejerk reactions to this stuff
If you raise any issue about the Arbery narrative being untrue, even if explicitly caveating that it has nothing to do with the possible guilt/punishment of the McMichaels, people will react poorly (see your downvotes).
It's amazing how in an age of enlightenment, social discourse is increasingly black/white (pun intended) and nuance and explanations are irrelevant.

are you under the impression that the McMichaels knew of AA's previous issues?

i just said this on the poli board... but it's entirely possible that Arbery was up to no good, but also that the McMichaels didn't set out to kill anybody that day, nonetheless a black man.
it's also possible that Arbery wasn't doing anything wrong and the McMichaels were racists out to do a modern day lynching and got the opportunity.
it's probably that Arbery wasn't doing anything wrong, the McMichaels made a rash decision and never intended to hurt anybody, it escalated, and alas a tragedy happened.
after that as far as not charging and the DA's behavior... that shite's shady.
