Supposedly, employees in several companies, including Lowes and Home Depot, have been directed not do anything in situations like this.
It has to do with the company not wanting its employees to get shot or hurt in another way, in trying to stop situations like this.
Their protocol is to not do anything, and let the cameras take pictures and report them to police.

I don't deny that, at all. They're trying to address problems within the legal and incarceration fields. I'm not a fan of this move, at all, but I do believe some sort of reforms are necessary.
My response was to the dude who claimed the the thieves are democrats. They're not, they don't vote because they're selfish pieces of shite who couldn't care less about society.

This is the new normal, and why paying customers will pay more for goods and services.
It's my understanding that most businesses will not try to stop shoplifters because it's more hassle than it's worth since they won't be put in jail or made to pay restitution.
