If walking on a public road while drunk is a crime, I'm John Gotti

operation in speeding around the car in front of him

Was it legal for him to go around said car (dotted line)? If so, Bridget is still in the right, unless speed can be proven, I’m sure.

They can’t get him on vehicular homicide if he was drunk. Can’t prove it since he left now.

Penalties for just felony hit and run driving are a lot less severe.

Vehicular homicide is automatically charged when driver is impaired or runs. He ran. Regardless of outcome, a good man lost his life over something completely avoidable.

You don't know what you're talking about so don't state affirmatively things that are blatantly false

Not trying to offend anyone or spread false information, but what else would the defense argue other than he is guilty of hit and run?

It’s not going to be easy for the family of the victim, because legally he will bear fault to some degree for crossing not in a crosswalk. Hearing that and watching that play out with a deceased friend/relative will suck

Wait someone got hit wondering around a street at night and we are just blaming the driver?

We have gotten pretty soft as a country and especially as a board.

As a frequent walker, I hate when cars do this. Drivers should always do what theyre supposed to do, and I will let you and then do what I'm supposed to do. Green light, go. You come to a stop sign, do NOT wait ten seconds as I walk up to the intersection to then not go so I can cross. When theyre being nice, theyre usually not accounting for every other driver on the road who isn't aware of their nice gesture.
