BATON ROUGE - A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash while walking across Ben Hur Road overnight.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the crash happened on Ben Hur Road off Burbank Drive, near several off-campus LSU student housing complexes, around midnight Sunday. It claimed the life of 44-year-old Jude Jarreau.

Officers said Jarreau was trying to cross Ben Hur Road when he was hit by a black Range Rover SUV. He died at the scene. The SUV reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Probably have guns and drugs in the car as disqualified and suspended citizens

No legal ramifications because it would be unfair if you charged hit and run to people on the way to the first day of class in October

Keep on going

No downsides

There are no repercussions..BRPD just doesn't care and these deaths are not counted in the homicide numbers... I would like to know how many unsolved hit and run deaths are in BR right now

Warrants, unlicensed, felons in possession of illegal guns, drugs, uninsured.

One out of every four drivers in BR is uninsured.

The list could go on and on.

Yeah. The vehicle was a black Range Rover so it may be a drunk college student from a rich family.

In that part of town on a Saturday night it sounds more like a white sorority girl from LSU.

I knew Jude well. Grew up in the same town. So sad. He loved his kids so much. I’m sure it’s really tough for them right now. Prays sent.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to find this black Range Rover.
