I think Gates passed him up several years ago

Bill gates isn’t even in the top 10. The Liberty media guy Malone? Owns over 2M acres.

your political leanings? no inclination from your posts. I generally believe in those voting rights ideas myself and also understand that rich people buy up land since the dawn of time.

I forgot to add he is also going to be donating a lot of it, for tax breaks, for the 30 by 30 plan.

That’s his business. Farmer and Landholders have been putting their property into conservation programs for tax dollars for decades. Why should I care if he does it?

Calm down skippy, we get it, he was gently when we was behind you.

I was simply stating his plans for his holdings.

Guessing preservation of natural land or more likely for future co2 rights..big business in selling these rights to companies to offset federal requirements for emission reduction...you sell the rights to keep large tracts of land industrial free to someone like an oil company for x many years...the oil company gets credit for reducing their emissions...thus meeting emissions reduction requirements of the feds...

If putting his land in conservation programs is a “liberal wet dream” then there’s a whole lot of conflicted baws around these parts.

Ummm, using tax payers $ to buy land from him and GIVE it to "disenfranchised" blacks to farm. Liberal wet dream-check.

Force mandated biofuels

Plant based foods and forced reduction of beef production

30 by 30 plan.

Yea those all fall under Big government liberal wet dreams.

CAREis a strong word, but maybe cuz it’s cheap AF for a lefty gazillionaire to be investing in things that are only good investments because of .gov subsidies?

You’re correct. I’m from that area - he only owns the land, not the farm operations.

You could have summed all of that up with “mitigation bank” or “carbon credits”

Angelina Ag is a large farming operation. They rent out some of the land but the company farms most of it. And yes Gates knows he owns it because he’s been there on the property before. One of the former managers would have to go to Washington once a year and give a presentation on the working of the farm. He also owns and farms Chicago Mills and Bodcah plantation south of Jonesville. You will never find Gates name on any of the properties but if you look hard enough they all go back to Cascade Investments. Investing in land and leveling it is one of the most sure investments in the world. They aren’t making any more land so it’s a great liquid asset. But to your point, Angelina ie Bill Gates does own and is actively engaged in row crop farming. I know a lot of people that work for Angelina
