Yeah, Chicago Mill as mentioned. Didn’t know he had purchased that tract.

a lot of staunch Bill Gates defenders in here. strange.
Defending him from what? What is there to defend against? Why is it weird for a billionaire to own land?

I had heard the rumor but I don’t know for sure that it’s fact. I do know that Oprah used to own it.

I don’t give a frick about Bill Gates. I’m just baffled that this many dumb fricks don’t understand who owns land and why they own it. These people VOTE for fricks sake.

I believe that dumb people need to be called dumb on a regular basis so maybe just maybe they won’t forget how dumb they are.

Can't speak to why the particular area but my own speculation on why Gates is buying up farmland has something to do with creating an alternate, plant based food supply.

Dumb people are dumb because they don’t listen

If I remember right, and there’s no guarantee that I do, but I believe that Bill just owns the land. He has no ownership in the actual Angelina Farms. He’s just a landlord and leases out the property. I could be wrong but that’s the understanding I’ve always had.

My friend is the farm manager of about half of it. CSB

So what’s the prevailing theory about why this particular area is being owned by these power players?
They buy it all over, not just this area. But land is cheap there so it gets bought up. Its a hedge against inflation that everybody knows is coming.
*also good tax benefits to owning farmland as opposed to other real estate.

I said it was a hyperbole (actually said it was a ‘hyperbolic statement’)
hy·per·bo·le /hi'p?rb?le/
noun
exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
So much for listening (reading), Sao

Not a conspiracy but he has more plans for his holding than most rich land owners.
Like stated already, he is invested big in biofuels and plant based foods. Also he is the leading source the Gov will acquire land from for there Equal Farmer BS.
So is he going to make tons of $ on taxpayers backs, most likely.
Regardless he is no different than Soros, a real life Bond villain.
