A federal appeals court on Wednesday upheld two city ordinances in Washington state requiring bikini-clad baristas to wear more clothing.
The unanimous decision by a three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals represented a victory for cities in their efforts to curb businesses that use scantily dressed female employees to attract customers.

quote:

The ruling by the San Francisco-based court came in a case brought by Hillbilly Hotties, a bikini barista chain, and several female employees.

They sued the city of Everett, Wash., over two ordinances passed in 2017 requiring workers at coffee stands and similar establishments to cover up.

quote:

A district judge blocked the laws on constitutional grounds, ruling that the ordinances were vague and violated free-speech rights.
In lifting the injunction Wednesday, the 9th Circuit said the dress-code and lewd-conduct laws were sufficiently clear and that any message of female empowerment the women intended to send would be lost on their customers.

Great business tactic.

Watch their earnings go down after losing customers (or they cook the books--i.e. lie) and then they will bitch about Trump and how the economy sucks.

Men were coming to eat there for the scene and not the food dumb asses.

I’m torn on this one. I like tits, but according to our federal system of government, it would be proper (though stupid) for local governments to be able to regulate dresscodes for food service workers. I think the circuit court made the right decision from a seperation of powers/federalism perspective, but the local government needs to repeal this blatantly sexist ordinance.

If there’s one thing that liberals have ruined that grinds my gears more than anything else it’s the objectification of women.

I'm genuinely curious, if they're actually "in the back" working with the food, how they got around health code violations when it comes to working with food with your hair down and the like.

There's not really an "in the back". They're usually just little coffee stands that might also sell bagels.

Where are all the women screaming that the government can’t tell them what to do with their bodies?

Is Hooters next?
